Another change in broadcasting on the horizon

Post by kpj tiger »

Sports streaming service DAZN is apparently close to buying BT Sports after BT has decided to focus on its internet business, potentially yet another subscription for consumers who want to watch rugby

Guessing not another one just a different one as your BT Sport subscription would move to DAZN. Not a massive deal except for those on BT internet who get the cheap BT sport deal.

Potentially, I guess it will depend if DAZN just rebrand the channels or if they move it all onto their streaming service, if so that will mean certain people (admittedly not many these days) who don't have a smart TV or a computer wouldn't be able to watch Prem Rugby anymore

DAZN would be buying BT sport for their portfolio's but they are for broadcast television not streaming so they would be taking over their channels it wouldn't be much of a change

Amazon's coverage of the Premier League is actually really good

Also in terms of what you get it's the most cost effective

I was really hoping that Amazon would bid for the rights. Would save me £25 a month for BT!

Whilst searching for info on Bordeaux I came across a heading for Sky TV and it was saying our game is scheduled for Saturday 3pm. Do Sky now cover the European matches?

Started with BT wi-fi so I could get the sport. Changed to Sky + BT sport. Then when I threatened to go back to BT I got sky cinema (all of it) + sky sports (all of it) and BT sports and HD and more all for the same price. It's worth negotiating.

I was brought up on a diet of 'Grandstand' ,Sportsnight with Rugby Special for afters so any paywall does not sit well with me.Ironic really as I now pay for Sport that I believe should be free ....
DAZN, BT, Sky, Amazon et al - makes no odds what so ever - just where the direct debit/Standing Order heads off to.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
