Re: Saracens
In my view, there’s little point in using preseason results to predict league positions, Saracens won the league in 14/15 after losing to Ospreys in preseason…

Re: Saracens
Undoubtedly Sarries are strong - but have to cope now like every other club during international windows/periods ; no seemingly unlimited depth of squad and like for like replacements.
Well coached and well drilled however.Be there or there abouts, I'm sure .

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
Re: Saracens
They’ll make the playoffs, I’m sure. Squad depth will be reduced, of course - but they don’t have European games so their fixture list will be considerably lighter than usual!
Re: Saracens
Why don't they have European games?

Re: Saracens
Maybe England just have 12 spots across the 2 comps.

Re: Saracens
No, more like its Chris111 mis-using "Europe" when actually meaning the Champions Cup (a very common and confusing occurrence). All teams from the Premiership, Top14 and URC play in "Europe", either in tbe Champions Cup or the Challenge Cup.
Saracens are in the Challenge Cup, so will probably have less challenging opponents.

Sarries will finish top 4 and could win it. But I couldn't pick my nose

Re: Saracens
I reckon Sarries might have a season similar to Tigers at times under Cockers where they are laboured early on due to injuries and international call-ups then in the final quarter of the season they will spring to life with their first XV fit, win a run of games to fire them into the playoffs from which anything could happen.

That 1st XV could still challenge anyone in the Premiership, the only weak spot I see there is 9 but I'd presume they will just change the game plan to play off 10 a lot more where they've got depth. Their 2nd XV is a lot weaker though, especially in the pack. Before the cap sanctions their 2nd XV was unsurprisingly just taking the mickey.

Re: Saracens
Apologies - I didn’t realise they were in the Challenge Cup. Still, don’t think they’ll focus too much on it…Premiership will be far more important for themCagey Tiger wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 1:08 pmNo, more like its Chris111 mis-using "Europe" when actually meaning the Champions Cup (a very common and confusing occurrence). Agreed. They'll want to re-establish their winning reputation ASAP (their moral and ethical reputation is shot to pieces and will take years to rebuild).chris111 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 6:26 pmApologies - I didn’t realise they were in the Challenge Cup. Re: Saracens
The second set of XVs I've listed are what they could field in 2019/20 before Figallo retired. Just showing the difference that the salary cap fallout has made to their depth even if the starting XV is still outstanding.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 10:03 amFigallo retired.ABClub wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 4:24 pm I reckon Sarries might have a season similar to Tigers at times under Cockers where they are laboured early on due to injuries and international call-ups then in the final quarter of the season they will spring to life with their first XV fit, win a run of games to fire them into the playoffs from which anything could happen.

Re: Saracens
IMO Sarries will make the playoffs> They have had a year in which to re-set and rejuvinate against lesser opposition. Looking forward to their trip to Welford Road, a good bench mark to see where both teams are.
