The final Bledisloe Cup game will now take place in early September (likely 4th Sept, but possibly Friday 3rd).

Bledisloe III has now been confirmed as Sunday 5th September at 2pm AWST (6am GMT), at Optus Stadium in Perth.

This is despite Western Australia introducing a hard border with New Zealand a couple of days ago, as NZ have been given an exemption as long as they arrive on a charter flight today.

The scheduling of the game was thrown into more chaos earlier in the week due to the AFL's venue booking policy. In order to ensure their playoff finals run as smoothly as possible, the AFL books up every team's home stadium for every Fri-Sun in September, meaning that they had Optus Stadium booked up for the whole weekend, and initially refused to release the booking, even though neither of the WA sides had made it to the playoffs! Discussions earlier today overcame that obstacle & the game has now been confirmed for next weekend...subject to no last minute hitches or further COVID outbreaks of course.
