Sounds like Ben's salary pre contract renewal, he took a pay cut to stay when May opted to not follow suit and go back to Glaws.
Yep, probably from a rumour pre contract renewal.

The thing thats hard to work out the impact of is the COVID “only 75% of contract counts to salary cap if signed before this date”.

As that means if e.g. Bristol quickly resigned all their players before the cut-off date, spending up to the cap could mean something very different to them compared to other teams who didn’t.

The real surprise is Toby Flood, good luck to him but this seems a bit OTT to me.

I wonder where this info came from?

The clubs probably can't publish it as confidential and the players likely wouldn't want it made public.

Companies House returns again probably won't show individual salaries just club figures overall, not just players.

The Inland Revenue again won't make this info public.

Leicester Tigers:
George Ford – £600,000
Ben Youngs – £350,000
Ellis Genge – £325,000

Gone are the days when the top paid player at the club was the tighthead, and the second top paid was the reserve tight head

If true I’d say Ford is a shade overpaid and Genge may be wanting a pay rise soon. Ben needs to be thinking about his retirement options

On other teams … Saints .. what the hell are they thinking with Biggar??!!!

Sharks … you’ve got a bit of a bargain with Faf!

Ford overpaid? He kept us in the league the other year and if you look at the price of international flyhalfs in the league it's the going rate. Biggar, Farrell and Ford they bring big money in because how many flyhalfs in their prime with that level of experience both domestically and internationally are available? You go looking for a Ford replacement now, you won't find like for like for cheaper.

Faf a bargain? He's the best paid scrum half in the league. Great player mind.

Also pretty sure that 600k figure for Ford was pre the pay cut agreed with Tigers 12 months ago.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

The Ben Youngs one is pre-contract renewal as well I think. The actual figures will be lower than those. Possible Benny isn't in the top 3 currently.
