Any leeway in the sense that if a player still declines the jab and can’t travel he could be disciplined by his club? Like I said it could get very messy. Just cancel the whole tournament, that would be a lot better IMO.
Well I doubt the club can force a player to get a jab as I doubt it's covered in their contracts.

The most similar thing I can think of is there have been instances in various sports where a player has been unable to obtain the correct visa for playing in a different country so weren't available for some away games in European competitions, it is just a thing the club needs to manage, though they will put as much pressure on players they want available as they can.
First off, the competition is not going to be called. There's too much money involved, the tv contracts will have to be honoured.

Secondly, I have no idea whether a club can force a player to get a jab, but choices have consequences. If a player decides to exercise his choice to not get a jab and thereby remove himself from selection, his employer would be likely to reconsider their value to the squad overall. They may well be marginalised for future games by the club and the rest of the squad (who may feel let down), and come new contract time, find a reduced offer on the table or none at all. I have no doubt that those players who haven't been vaccinated and, inevitably, contracted Covid and caused cancellations will be feeling pressure from their employers/colleagues already.
Their contracts likely have terms relating to “players taking reasonable measures to stay available for selection”, or something along those lines. I don’t think it’d be hard to argue that vaccines are safe and thus reasonable.

It'll quickly become apparent which players haven't been jabbed I'd imagine when they drop off matchday squads. I do wonder how many Tigers players aren't jabbed.

Blackett has confirmed 100% of Wasps players are fully vaccinated, can't see Borthwick doing the same given his stance on medical info being private but interesting that some clubs have already reached that marker.

Whether we know or not, I’d hope Tigers are in a similar position. I’d hate for our winning streak to be halted by Covid in the camp.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

Yes. And they’ve an important trip to Biarritz next Saturday! Brive too, are close to the relegation zone and they’ve a tough home match with leaders Bordeaux/Bègles.

I watched UBB v Brives yesterday with locals at the Comptoir des Sports in Ste Foy la Grande - they were pretty subdued for most of the game. Bordeaux are not the same force without Jalibert at 10 and there isn’t too much optimism for the trip to Welford Road.

Bonjour, Canuck, and welcome to the forum!

I don't know the details of Jalibert's injury or whether he'll be fit for the match at Welford Rd on the 22nd. Without him, their chances would indeed be a lot slimmer.
As an aside, I fear that Brive are becoming one of the sides that are likely to be relegated unless they can turn round their run of poor form. Their next match - on the 29th, is at home to fellow strugglers Biarritz, which'll be a must win for both teams!

There were some figures saying over 92% of Premiership players were vaccinated.

It might be higher now. Possible that a few of the South American and East European players may register as unjabbed if they have had jabs not approved in the EU or UK.
Caused an issue for some of the East European tennis players who's vaccs were not recognised and denied visas. Off topic but crazy that those have done the right thing in their home country are denied when unjabbed get exemptions!

I was both surprised and very pleased to watch Wasps beat Toulouse this afternoon. Umaga’s red card gave them a mountain to climb and the fact that they did so was outstanding. Gopperth, again, the master of keeping the scoreboard ticking over.
Given Tigers’ win v Connacht, the much anticipated clash (from my point of view) v UBB becomes less important. Since we have already qualified for the last 16 will next weekend’s match be a training exercise? I hope not since a fair amount of beer is wagered on the result !!
Allez les Tigres !!!
