It will be about what he said to the ref after the final whistle, can't remember his exact words but something to the effect that he wasn't man enough to make hard decisions

If Tom Youngs has stepped out of line with the referee and been prejudicial to the ideals of rugby, then surely Pat Lam, who blatantly lied to the referee is equally guilty.

Rightfully charged - bleeds red white and green but overstepped the mark with how he talked to the ref. Can’t argue with his feelings but don’t want to see that in rugby.

Problem is if he’s been charged then surely Lam has to have something brought against him too?

For me the biggest issue with this is if Tom has been charged then why hasn't Lam, also you could argue Afoa's actions in the farcical touchline debate and also after winning the game are also "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union and the game"

You cannot use foul language towards the officials. Emotions were high and things said in the heat of the moment.

Equally you can't deliberately lie and mislead the referee.

It will be for using foul and abusive language at the referee for which Hartley/Sinckler et al have been banned in the past. No matter the reason you cannot swear (repeatedly in this case) at a ref - end of. Totally different behaviour to that of Lam's manipulation(!) of the facts.

And, anyway, Lam still under investigation. We do not know if charges will follow.

Youngs comments along the lines... "What you did mate, is that you're not ******** strong enough to give a penalty try, and you ******** know it". When Tempest asked "Which one?" he said "******** all of them!" then added in "Its ******** criminal" for good measure.

Fact is we know he shouldn't have sworn, however in so doing it has highlighted his, and probably the rest of Tigers players and staff's feelings about the charade!

Don't get me wrong. I think me and 6,399 other fans felt the exact same as TY, but you just can't speak to the officials like that and expect to get away with it, everything's recorded these days!

Feel sorry for Tom but under the laws of the game......

Hope the beak understands the circumstances in full and is lenient when it comes to the sanction.

Who reported it? Tempest? I do hope it didn't come from Bristol.

They seem to be taking their time in saying anything about Lam. I would have thought they would have announced a date for a hearing by now.

Providing there are sanctions against Brizzle for their actions, you can't argue against the ban OTY will get, let's not forget he wasn't terribly professional in the away game against them either in his interactions with "Sir", unfortunately to me it's more evidence of why he isn't a great on field captain.
To win is not as important as playing with style!
