Stepping away form OTYs 2nd job...any news of the Pat Lam investigation? Would it be reasonable to assume that the investigation would be at a similar time to Toms hearing?
There is a lot of debate on here about respect. I just wonder if Pat, whether deliberately or not, failed to respect the spirit and or laws of the game?

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Well as has been said Premiership Rugby have cited their end of match culprit in Tom Youngs so they do not need to sanction Lam.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
What Lam did was way worse than Tom imo.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Tom was charged as a result of the match report by the Officials. I believe that the shenanagins that went on with regards to Lam and Borthwick is s separate enquiry by PRL/RFU so not necessarily gone for Lam.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Youngs should expect a decent ban. Its not far off being as bad as the Hartley incident with Barnes. He swore at the red and effectively questioned his integrity.
Re: Tom Youngs Charged
What Tom did was wrong but it was a passionate outburst in an emotionally charged moment. A calculated attempt at cheating coupled with lying is much worse imo. I'd hazard an educated guess that our Tom gets punished more harshly than Pat,just a hunch!

Remember Tom is a Norfolk Farmer. What he said was positively polite to what he could have said,

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
To my mind Lam bought the game into disrupte, however, he's got the poxy cover story ready and whilst we all know it to be Horlicks it's passable enough for him to get away with a slap on the wrist. Tom has no chance though I'd be interested to see if Lam's comments re any Afoa injury being on the ref's head counts as threatening behaviour or not.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
sorry but watching the highlights, Tempest was referring to himself as "Tempo" anyone in a position of power that refers to themselves by a nickname immediately loses all rights to demand respect. Furthermore they should be punished themselves by being placed in the stocks
Re: Tom Youngs Charged
There is a difference, Barnes objected more to being labelled a cheat rather than Hartley's use of the expletive. Youngs' accusations were warranted and fair, they should have just been done in writing in the official channels rather than sauntering off to the re after the game, f-bombs in hand, which was a bit silly.Cardiff Tig wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 5:29 pm Youngs should expect a decent ban. Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Youngs accusations were not warranted. Yes, lots of fans (myself included) though the ref bottled it. But the players, especially the captain, can't state to the ref that he knowlingly chose not to give the correct call because he wasn't brave enough. And swearing at the same time just makes it worse.JP14 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 9:57 amThere is a difference, Barnes objected more to being labelled a cheat rather than Hartley's use of the expletive. Like I said, it's not as bad as Hartley outright calling Barnes a cheat. But it's not far off. If it was any other team then most people on here wouldn't be defending the player.
Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Calling someone a cheat and stating that someone isn't strong enough to make tough decisions are completely different!
