No Lavanini. Interesting.

I really feel for JVP missing out on the squad. Otherwise not too many complaints with that 23.

It's still surprising to see the appearance numbers for some of the team. Feels like Weise and Nadolo for example have played far more games for us!

Stop it now Borthwick, Youngs to start and JVP on the bench. JVP is the future, give the lad a taste of the big time!
I agree but suspect SB has looked at the weather forecast. Still, very surprised that Ben is not starting.

Think he missed a trick not having JVP on the bench, as we have all noticed Wiggy seems to be far too slow now, just hoping his experience shows, although on recent showings I can't see it. Let's just get the old prayer mat out.

Borthwick's shown time and time again he gets selections pretty spot on so lets back him and the boys. Plenty of unlucky guys in the wider squad but I'm backing this team!
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I've never seen a tigers selection where the scrum half isn't criticised. Ben Youngs still isn't a high enough quality to make the first team...! :smt005

Really looking forward to it, I'll be shouting until my voice gives in. Can't :censored: wait!

I can sort of see why Borthwick went for the 9 call.
Maybe feel it might be a bit too soon for JVP to play in a final especially against a pack like that.

Stats wise Montpellier have given up more points in the second half of a game, Similar to Ulster.
Ulster in the pro 14
First Half 15 tries conceded, second half 19
Montpellier
First Half 15 tries conceded, second half 20

Maybe he feels that it's potentially a target and that Youngs would speed up the game more coming on. without losing experience.

don't agree with it, but can potentially see the logic.

Will be surprised if it's a particularly pretty game given the teams, conditions, it's a final, etc. That's not a criticism.

I've been thinking of going but getting to Twickenham on a wet Friday evening not a lot of fun plus a few personal factors making me think again.

Can't find 2 of their subs on their squad list from their site - https://www.montpellier-rugby.com/effec ... saison=All
Number 17 R Rogers and 19 T Duguid - not even in their younger players lists. Any info????

Rogers is a young South African prop by all accounts. Montpellier were supposed to be struggling for numbers at loosehead.

Yeah their only other fit senior Loosehead is banned. Cole and Heyes will be looking forward to this

Teams up. Stick by ‘em. Anyone else clock watching, getting zero work done and feeling physically a little queezy? Or just me?

Don't get me wrong, I'll be chearing the whole team on tomorrow. Even Wigglesworth if he does anything. I just think this is a great way of giving JVP some great experience of this sort of game.

I mean we don't want him choking in the Heineken cup final next season do we!! :smt002

COYT!!
