“But I firmly believe that you can attain success without necessarily having the top budget. If you can agree a sufficient budget, then it comes down to the experience and expertise of your coaching team and your development structures and your pathways.

“And that’s what I see at Leicester. They may not be the top spenders at the moment but Steve’s a pretty good operator.

“I think our collective can be much better than the sum of the parts. I think that’s what we try to achieve.”

I am glad he understands this and has that attitude.

Budget is important but equally it's not the be all and all end all.
