Worlds Highest Paid Players .......
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
Re: Worlds Highest Paid Players .......
Blimey ! Decent money but nothing in comparison to an “average” 2nd tier Championship Footballer AND if you consider that these are elite sports professionals with a relatively short career window in a high risk, no guarantees profession ...
In 2020 reports suggested that the highest paid Championship player earned a weekly salary of £68,000 per week with the “average” wage being £29,000 a week or just over £3.5 million and £1.5 per respectively (source https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.888s ... paid%3famp)
...it does make you chuckle when you see all the Saracens on there too

I always assumed props earned ridiculous amounts compared to most, particularly tightheads and especially in France? No wonder the poor devils are having to supplement their income with social media influencing and podcasts!!!
Re: Worlds Highest Paid Players .......
Actually, indecent. The short career argument just doesn't wash. They are very, very highly paid for a while and then they may have to get a proper job. If well advised, their bank accounts will be well stockedKiwiTig wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 8:10 am Blimey ! If those numbers are correct (which they probably aren't) Bristol have blown over half next years salary cap on just 4 players.

One of those will be marquee so not count to cap.cheltexile wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 5:16 pm If those numbers are correct (which they probably aren't) Bristol have blown over half next years salary cap on just 4 players.
Also I think I'm right in saying any contract signed before the agreed cap reduction only counts 75% towards it
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
