Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021
By full bore I don't mean pick the same squad for both games so much but just pick the team that has the best chance of winning.
Henderson, Heyes and De Bruin deserve to start the Challenge cup semi final IMO for example.
But I would rather give the time off for players like Genge and Ford v Sale (A) or maybe Worcester (A)

Yes I agree,I’d rather go the other way though! These 3 games don’t make or break our season but would tell us where we are after only losing to the top 4 in the last 14 games. We’ve lost the first one!RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:53 pm I think if Borthwick was to pick a "changed" team it would be the challenge cup game.

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021
Come on folks it’s Saints. Best side out which has to have JVP in.
Secondly, to be honest the pressure is on Saints as they lose and it will dent their top 4 ambitions. As always, the next game is the biggest and beat Saints sends a message out to Ulster.
Best side but I don’t mind which way round the front row is. I hope Lavanini or Henderson start unless Martin plays second row. Martin needs game time as he’s hardly played all season.
Don’t mind starting with McPhillips and Youngs. Up front just hope Hanro is fit to at least come off the bench.
Load a waffle. JUST BEAT SAINTS!

Yes they do but perhaps they will be rested for Sale away. I would definitely start them both for the next 2 matchesCrofty wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:51 pmLess flippantly, don't Genge and Ford need one more rest weekend still?RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:49 pmwhat we can't play back to back rugby?
Didn't we put out the same team back to back v Connacht and Falcons? What's the difference

Agreed. Next 2 games are big matches. Home derby and need to keep up the pressure on 6th and the semi final goes without saying.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:42 pm Same team as today with maybe Lavanini starting and if fit Liebenberg starting at 6, with JVP on the bench.

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021
I though Green played quite well today and Wells has played a lot recently so perhaps give him a rest in the derby and be back for the Semi vs Ulster. Also Henderson played well vs Connacht and Lavanini didn’t come on today so is relatively fresh. I’m hoping Nemani is back for the Derby for a spot on the bench to get some game time back. I hope Hanro is back for this week and hopefully Brink isn’t too far away either (although can see him being kept until after the SF).
I’d go something along these lines:
Steward
Potter
Moroni
Scott
Murimurivalu
Ford
Youngs
Wiese
Reffell
Liebenberg
Green
Lavanini
Cole
Clare
Genge
Youngs
de Bruin
Heyes
Henderson
Martin
van Poortvliet
McPhillips
Nadolo (Porter/Kelly of Nemani isn’t fully ready)

Tasty looking game this, looking forward to watching it.
Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021
I am damn sure SB will be focused on both. Every game is a win game for SB regardless of picked squad and opposition. And its the Saints, bragging rights mucho important!!

Only half-dozen matches left in the season, go out to win every one of them.

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021
100%
We will definitely be focussed on beating Saints and it's at home so we want to keep rebuilding the fortress that once was. 9 wins out of 11 so far this season is a good start and we will want to be 11 wins out of 13 come the end of the month. A win to build on the good performances of late will set us up for the huge battle with Ulster a week later. 2 tough matches that are winnable but I am sure SB will be going for as strong a selection as possible in both
