Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Great try .. always a treat to re watch, great offload by Tom David and equally brilliant pick up by Scott’s dad! Plus Of course skills of Bennet, the straightening of line by Dawes and the pace of Gareth. Interestingly 2 Kiwis would be off the field now after that for their tackles on JPR!
Great player and captain Dawes. I think his Lions victory in NZ in 71 is his stand out achievement. I was just getting into rugby at that point, and it was a tremendous performance on that tour and took some real courage, especially after what happened in Canterbury to Sandy Carmichael. History has proven how difficult it is to repeat
RIP John, you shall be always remembered by the rugby brotherhood.

Fine player and a great captain. I think of him as an unselfish facilitator who brought out the best in the talented players around him. Astonished to read that he was 80. Tempus fugit!

Before my time but I have watched the Baa Baas v NZ in 73 many times, never realised how few games he actually played for Wales, but his coaching record stands out too, even from that one game you can see how good he was.
As for that try.......the speed Gareth takes the ball is incredible.

To win is not as important as playing with style!

50 caps was a real rarity in the 60s/70s.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 11:20 am Before my time but I have watched the Baa Baas v NZ in 73 many times, never realised how few games he actually played for Wales, but his coaching record stands out too, even from that one game you can see how good he was.
