Now we don't know if Covid will affect the squad size and if it will limit the amount of foreign players that Rassie Erasmus and Jaques Nienaber can select but here are my bets for Saffas in the Prem who will be selected for the Boks for the Lions tour this summer:
Capped:
Lood de Jager (Sale)
Faf de Klerk (Sale)
Vincent Koch (Saracens/I know not Premiership but still counts)
Akker van der Merwe (Sale)
Uncapped:
Cobus Wiese (Sale)
Jasper Wiese (Leicester)
Obviously other uncapped contenders are our own Liebenberg, Jaques Vermeulen at the Chiefs but the back row is incredibly competitive with the likes of Captain Siya Kolisi, PSDT, Duane Vermeulen, possibly Marco van Staden too and the uncapped Juarno Augustus at the Stormers.

As far as I'm aware it's not known when the Springboks squad will be announced, but I can't see it being ridiculously before or after the Lions squad announcement on May 6th.

Am I right in saying SA haven't played a test match since the RWC 2019?
They're going to be playing the Americans (who also haven't played since the World Cup) in a warm-up game before the Lions tour commences.
Yeah, I guessed they would be playing a warm up or two but I was thinking about how much the team might change from when we've last seen them, given that time span.
There is a very big possibility that Wiese and Van Staden might make the bok squad after this Lions tour IMO.
van Staden replaces Louw
Wiese or Augustus will fight it out for Vermeulen spot
I think for the lions tour Van Staden has the highest chance currently with Louw now retired.

What happened to Jaco Kriel? Was world class at The Lions then didn’t settle/got injured/lost form at Gloc. Shame, loved watching him!

Yes in April there are going to be a set of "alignment camps", one for the players based in the UK, one for players in France, one in South Africa then a virtual one for the Players in Japan.

Just got injured too much, and probably never settled at Gloucester either...

For those of you who follow Super Rugby, will be interesting to see if the Boks show winger Mark Telea of the Blues any interest (who qualifies for South Africa through his father).
