What’s Street looking like lately? It looked at one point he was ahead of Heyes

Tough position and if they're doing a Saxons then it'd probably make sense to load up with a few young tight heads, Street and Heyes included.

1.Genge
2.Dunn
3.Stuart
4.Martin
5.Ewels (c)
6.T Hill
7.Earl
8.Simmonds

9.Randall
10.Smith

11.Radwan (Thorley if he doesn't recover)
12.Lawrence
13.Slade
14.Marchant
15.Steward

16.Blamire
17.Obano
18.Heyes
19.Ribbans
20.B Curry
21.Mitchell
22.Malins
23.Odogwu

I'd hope that Rodd, Barbeary, Isiekwe, Dombrandt, Joe Simmonds, Piers O'Conor and Dingwall are also involved in the touring party.

I'd say one of Paul Hill or Ehren Painter from Saints probably deserve the third tighthead spot on tour too. Harry Williams is solid but his no arms tackles are waiting to get pinged, whilst Marcus Street is really talented but not got as much game time this season. I do rate Will Stuart though and hope he impresses with a couple of starts.

I looked at a team with no 6N regulars but good shout with Barbeary - I forgot about him.

Plenty more you could add in as well such as will evans, Luke James, Ben loader, OHC etc. Also someone who is very rarely mentioned is Tom Hendrickson at Exeter feel he could to a tuilagi role however I do feel his fitness is not international standard

A good strong amount of depth all over.
I think the scrum needs work.
I'd include a couple of props with experience, either Obano or Genge at LH and Williams or Stuart at TH.
After this experiment.
England need to find it in my opinion.

Hasn't Eddie Jones name checked that young flyhalf from Worcester Fin Smith?

The Saxons is something that Conor O'Shea wants reinstated, whether or not it will go ahead is another matter.

The plan is for the men's team to play the Barbarians at Twickenham on the 12th June (that could mean the possibility of some fans), then play Scotland in California on the 10th July 2021, before playing the Eagles on the 17th and Canada on the 24th July in unconfirmed venues.

We delving into some ifs and buts here, but if international travel is permitted to the US at some point (as the Americans seem to have finally got their act together in tackling the pandemic) it could be possible to go and see England play. At the moment, in the MLR, socially distanced fans are permitted but that's a decision made on a local/state level not by the league's organisers.

For me it would be useless speculating on who will play for England this summer until Gatland selects his Lions squad, but for me Marcus Smith has to be in that England squad.

I'm predicting that the Tigers contingent will be (ignoring Ford, Genge, Youngs if they're not selected for Lions):
  • Heyes
  • Martin
  • Steward
With Kelly and JVP as possibilities.

If I were picking the England touring team I would be trying to get Tommy Reffell to commit to England rather than Wales and that long term would be good for Tigers.

So I've had a go at picking a whole squad, The * denotes players who may get a Lions call up and who would replace them

Loosehead:
Ellis Genge*, Beno Obano, Bevan Rodd, Tom West*

Hooker:
Tom Dunn, Alfie Barbeary, Curtis Langdon

Tighthead:
Will Stuart, Joe Heyes, Marcus Street

Lock:
Joe Launchbury*, George Martin, David Ribbans, Charlie Ewels*

Back Row:
Sam Simmonds*, Ben Earl, Will Evans, Alex Dombrandt, Ted Hill, Lewis Ludlam*

Scrum Half:
Ben Spencer, Jack Van Poortvliet, Raffi Quirke

Fly Half:
Marcus Smith, Joe Simmonds

Centre:
Ollie Lawrence, Piers O'Conor, Joe Marchant, Dan Kelly, Luke James

Wing:
Ratu Naulago, Ollie Hassell-Collins, Adam Radwan, Paolo Odogwu

Fullback:
Freddie Steward, Josh Hodge

The front 5 and halfbacks were relatively easy to pick but the back row, centres and outside back's were tough, for instance the likes of Murley, O'Flaherty, Potter, Loader, Parton were all close in the back 3.

I also didn't pick any potential cross nationality picks (Reffell, Jordy Reid, Ackerman etc) with the exception of Naulago as its difficult to tell if they even want to play for England
