Good to have serious selection options. As Dyls said it’s a good problem to have.

McPhillips seems to be a bit more consistent than Henry. Perhaps coming through the academy system in England and then Ulster helps him play in a more structured environment? They spoke today about how Burns can cover 15 as well and how they expect Steward to be with England sooner or later. Given the need for cover in the back three it looks like Henry and McPhillips will stay with Bonilla moving on.

It's what we need though competition.
The players Borthwick will want are the ones who will step up to it.
Borthwick has made it very clear with his contracts and selections.
If you are training well you will get chances and if you take those chances you will keep getting more, he rewards players a lot more than our previous head coaches.

Yes we've used 46 players so far

To my inexpert eye, consistency is what you want at 10Tigers86asw wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 2:52 pmMcPhillips seems to be a bit more consistent than Henry...

The replacements today now know they have to step up or they won’t be in the team.
I personally think Genge needs some regular game time and out of all the returning players Ben Youngs(last week) performed by far the best.
Cannot see Freddie getting above McPhillips or Genge based upon his last season for Bath and I don’t think he’s had a great time in Japan where their style of play should have suited him.
Agree that Dylan Hartley is a very good TV expert: hated him playing against us until the Premiership Final but a top bloke who has done a lot for Matt Hampson and his foundation as well as other charities.

I ve a lot more time for Hartley as a captain than I do Farrell. Hartley was good today. Doesn’t try to say too much- quality not quantity.

superb performance all round deserved MOTM for George Martin.
Hopefully Iceberg is ok, didn't even go for a HIA so presumably they thought he was out on the field.
Little concerned how easily Newcastle broke for their tries not sure if we switched off or not.

as for the 10 debate I seem to remember not so long ago people writing McPhillips off, now that seems to have switched to Zack Henry

I suspect we will keep both, you can't have enough 10/12/15 types. Always fascinates me that we don't have more 9/10s as in FranceJimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:31 pm as for the 10 debate I seem to remember not so long ago people writing McPhillips off, now that seems to have switched to Zack Henry
Leicester Tigers 1995-

Swansea (Whites) 1988-95

You've got to be thrilled with the squad depth. It doesn't seem to matter who plays. Players are standing up and putting in the work. Borthwick has them playing for the shirt like the Leicester of old.
Big fan of Potter. He's always looked comfortable and dangerous stepping up to this level. And shoutout to Cam Henderson, who while not doing anything flashy, has been rock solid despite his youth.

we tend to pigeon hole here in the UK, I don't see why Ford for instance couldn't have played 9 with his skillset or someone like Simmons who has been shunted to the wing to play 10jgriffin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:37 pmI suspect we will keep both, you can't have enough 10/12/15 types.
