Only possibly chance for me would be Chessum at 6 with Wells and Green in the row and give Lavanini the week off.

Chessum played well today and I’d like to see Henderson get some more game time off the bench. Tomas has played well, but one eye for next season with him off and think he could deserve a week off.

Possibly Nadolo, Simmons or Potter on the bench in place of Murimurivalu - but that’s all fitness depending really. Our backs are showing up well IMO - just need some front foot ball.

Irish will be a tough game - will need the forwards to really front up to get the points in this one.

Agree except Chessum at 6 for me, with Wells on the bench.

Nadolo plays if he is fit ahead of Porter with a very close call between Murimurivalu and Porter for the 23 jersey.

Only real debate for me is 11 & 12. If fit Nadolo starts (Murimurivalu if not) and Porter id like to see at 12.

If we are genuinely building for the future, then you have to question the logic of selecting certain players for what is in effect a meaningless league season.

The season still has European qualifying places up for grabs.....top six is still possible.

Unless they become more of a crutch to lean on, I just see more logic in experience to some of the younger players whose development has been disrupted by the Covid postponement of A League & reduced lower leagues.
We need to see Ben White playing behind a more competitive pack, can one of our young locks genuinely take over from big Tomas, are Potter or Kelly a long term option at 12, is Whitcombe up to the task yet, only actual game time will prove that.
I accept that we need a blend of players but, not if the more experienced ones are in the way of development.

how is Ben White going play behind an improved pack if we fill it with kids, this squad needs to learn the winning habit, its why I was annoyed at team selection today, there's no relegation but every game is still must win

Arguably the "kids" are less of a problem at present..in Whites case it was more about seeing him start behind our "best" 8.
If we play badly against Irish with a theoretically stronger team it does make today's selection extra odd.
I do worry about our lack of Plan B at present, it worked against Bath, but if they had been able to catch the ball, would we of continued to play that way regardless, the evidence from the Sale game & today is yes.

Irish will be no push overs , strongest possible side , which is (injury and suspensions not withstanding) what I believe we will see.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
