Exeter's pitch
Looks worse than ours did that infamous year.
Will suit us when we go down there next month.

Bad as it is it's a lot better than plastic

Re: Exeter's pitch
Sandy Park is exceptionally exposed to the prevailing SW winds and storms! For those not in the know, it is on the edge of a sandstone outlier so there are no protecting hills, and the soil is both sandy and thin. Both a brother and a sister have houses on Bishops Way (across the suspension bridge) and their gardens have received a right dousing this year.

Re: Exeter's pitch
Their pitch today looked better than Tigers last night, what have we been doing on it?

Nothing wrong with the Tigers pitch......in very good condition for this time of year.

There's always that far corner of the Rec, normally the right hand, far side on telly, that always resembles a swamp.

Re: Exeter's pitch
Beat me to it. The Welford Road pitch looks in good condition, we are now in March and they've been playing on it all winter. Players weren't slipping over on Friday night and the pitch was holding firm at scrum time. I didn't spot any obvious boggy patches.
Re: Exeter's pitch
Having walked on the pitch after games, the surface holds up really well and the pitch is well drained.

Re: Exeter's pitch
Without being facetious I tend to concern myself with and worry more about Exeter's team than their pitch.Sandy Park is traditionally a difficult venue for opposition teams to perform - as we have found in recent seasons.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
Re: Exeter's pitch
Weren't our woes compounded by a rock concert or some such. It left a mess in front of the Crumbie.
The pitch has been laid with a weave in it I believe. Should make it hold up better?

Re: Exeter's pitch
No doubt they will scarify and re-seed the pitch at the end of the season like always. Great watching it grow on the web cam
