In the Mercury SB is quoted as considering the following people in the squad for the following positions

Reffell - 7
Wallace - 7
T.Smith - 7/8
Brink - 6/7/8
Chessum - 6
Wells - 6

That strongly suggests that we won't see Wallace and Reffell play together.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I think it’s likely to be Wells, Reffell, Brink with Wallace on the bench if recovered. Chessum might get a look in but Wells has filled in at 6 a fair bit before so I’d expect him to start.

By no means a guarantee, but Nadolo was on social media saying he was a couple of weeks away at the weekend - suggest we might not see him this weekend at least

If Wells starts at 6 (which wouldn't be my choice) it should be Wallace & Smith on the bench.
I would like to see Taute at 12, to see if he offers something more/different attack wise & if Van Wyk isn't fit its who takes that spot, leave Moroni at 13.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Not heard anything about Potter and Porter but either could fill in on the wing or Simmons

I'm tempted to go Brink, Reffell, Smith.

That would be my choice too JP as I prefer Wells at lock but he seems to fill in a bit at 6 and if SB said only yesterday he sees him as a 6 then sounds likely. I’d prefer Brink Reffell Smith though too

SB likes at least one lineout option in the back row, I don't recall Smith being a lineout jumper (may be wrong though)

That’s a good point and yes you’re right, that seems to be the SB way. Let’s see what happens. Hope the bans aren’t too lengthy.

I expect 4 weeks for Jasper. Hanro may get less as I believe there is more to say in mitigation.

Bit left field but might like to see Henderson at 6. A rangy runner but always makes an impact when he’s come off the bench. As mentioned, he’s a good line out option and tackles well, and fairly quick which could be needed if Bristol get their game plan going. Equally, he carries well in the tight and from memory is good from 5m out which suits our game plan.

Could mean a more traditional 19/20 with Wells and Wallace?

Probably unlikely but something I wouldn’t mind seeing

Perhaps slightly unrelated to this thread but Olowafela has put on his social media he is currently in Sydney, could we read anything into this regarding departures?

I’d imagine he is in a similar category to Hardwick - not been seen in training photos for a long time. Not comparing attitudes or anything else at all, just likely situations. Shame as he possesses speed, just didn’t quite have the confidence to use it to his advantage in games
