Bristol tried to play quick rugby and put Tigers under pressure for a lot of the game but the defence was immense and a good shift was put in by all. Bristol are a good attacking and defence team and that may be why they are sitting at the top of the table...

Thoroughly frustrating game to watch. Need to try to look at the +’s - Moroni and the youngsters were good to see. After that I think I’d prefer to mow the lawn. The game as a spectacle (not the result) ruined by the ref and officials.

Bristol are happy to give away penalties as the ref had clearly decided he was never going to card them ( and why wouldn’t they) . Clear knock ons leading up to both try’s . points missed from the boot by us and a yellow.

IMO Borthwick got selections wrong with that backrow. Thom Smith (If fit) would've been better at 8.
???? How could he pick him if he wasn’t fit then?
What?
You’re saying SM should have picked a player who he couldn’t pick because he’s not fit?

Longer the game went on the better we looked. McP is a better player than DB and offers more threat. Bench made an impact. We are still not clinical enough but fought very hard and their only points were the YC. Lots of positives and SB will have learnt a lot.

Is he not fit?
I merely said IF Smith was fit he should've started at 8.

no he was saying he should have played, we don't know if he was fit so he was assuming he was

Penalty 5m out and we kick to the corner! Tap and go and we likely leave with the LBP. Maul didn’t get going all afternoon yet we kept trying it to no avail.
We missed the Montoya and Liebenberg heave in the maul today for sure. Not sure we had that punchy player on the pitch at that time to tap and go.

Pretty good defence from both sides, majority of Bristol’s points came from the YC period, but we should have come away with more than 3 points, Bristol were never in a million years going to concede from our maul today, would have been better to go for a tap and go.

Promising performances though, we definitely didn’t give up and defence was outstanding at times, to concede only 17 points to Bristol is far from bad.

YC?
DB?
Please could we try to use full names rather than initials. Makes it easier for all users to understand.

Murimurivalu missed too many tackles to me, Steward still has the 15 shirt firmly in his grasp, still yet to see him or Van Wyk really shine, hope that happens soon, could he be an option at 13?

As others have said I think SB will have learnt a lot about some of the ‘fringe’ players today going forwards.

Squad effort is muchi improved and think we are building. Get some attacking play going and we would look good as the defence was improved today. Moroni looks a quality addition at 13, defence, decision making - get his speed and outside arch in attack and we could make some moves

Agree Steward has nailed the 15 shirt, disagree on Muri at 13 - Moroni has nailed that imo.

Muri could be great at 23 as impact, looks for work and covers 11/13/14/15.

Van Wyk looked good for me today, came looking for work, good in defence and tried to make some good lines.

I’m going to sound like a broken record a bit but I honestly think if we get some attack and the players we are missing back our overall play could be back to where us fans and the club want it to be. Optimistic for the future

I assumed it was David Blunkett. Yours is probably more likely :smt002
