Disappointing!
If a player wants to go, then not much point in keeping him on, I suppose.

Not surprised (if true) and wish him well if so.

That’s how we could afford to pay Montoya!

Yes and he's not been first choice of late either, used more as an impact player.

Translated:

New Zealand's third center line from Leicester, Jordan Taufua, will sign up for LOU as a medical wildcard but also for the next two years.
His arrival was expected for next season, as indicated a few weeks ago, but Jordan Taufua will finally be packing his bags earlier than expected in Lyon. Announced last summer, not in Top 14 but in Pro D2, during the real false takeover of Béziers by Emirati investors, the New Zealand third center line will indeed leave the English club Leicester.

Quite possibly, yes.

Add to that the number and quality of youngsters we have queueing up for back row gametime and the likelihood of no relegation and it's clear there's nothing to be gained from paying Taufua loads of money to stick around a few more months.

Loved watching him play for Tigers, best of luck to him in France.

Good translation, Tb. (très bon!)
In France they call the back row, "troisième ligne" (première ligne = front row, deuxième ligne = second row).
The wing forwards are troisième ligne aile and the middle of the back, ie 8, troisième ligne centre.

He's coming in for the injured Mathieu Bastareaud (converted from centre to 8) who will be absent for the rest of the season.

Hopefully means we might see more of Martin and Chessum on the bench covering lock/6.

Really want to see those 2 at lock.

Well I wish him the best, he gave his all and this move makes sense for both parties.

Am absolutely gutted to see JT leave, when he signed I thought he was just the player we needed to lead us out of the mess we were in. Feel like we've barely seen what JT has to offer (mostly due to injuries) and for him to leave midway is just the icing on this disappointing cake. I wish him all the best at Lyon and thanks for the one of the best try's scored at Welford Road in the last few years!

Especially nice to see him demolish the Scottish fullback

Seems like the best deal all round - we will work to land Van Staden (techincally could come after Currie cup this weekend but unlikely I hear) who will be on a longer term deal and the injury to big Bastareaud means they can employ an injury joker - lessens the salary weight for tigers on a player who will leave in the summer anyway.
Shame we never go to see the best but he always gave everything in a tigers shirt.........

these are strange old times.......
Less is more....
