France have a very good coaching set up now, and their defence and discipline under Edwards has significantly improved. Combine that with with their flair and dangerous backs makes them very threatening. They are now bringing through a lot of good young players too.

Next match home to the Sweaties in two weeks! As an aside, I wonder if the absence of a full stadium is having an effect, particularly for the home side ? From my point of view, I think it is. Yesterday’s result in Edinburgh may have been different, and today’s too.

Indeed, I was quite impressed. One or two words of franglais crept in, but I’m sure his efforts were much appreciated by the players.

Will watch with interest throughout the rest of the tournament but it seems that Shaun Edwards is already exerting quite an influence in terms of discipline in the French defence. His signing could really prove a massive coup..

Although the defence was quite good yesterday, Edwards will be far from satisfied and will no doubt be laying into the players with some choice French expletives in order to improve it for the visit of the Scots on Sunday the 28th!
