Good contest and a great win. I was impressed with France’s discipline in those closing minutes when the France of old may well have conceded a kickable penalty. Very happy !!

France have a very good coaching set up now, and their defence and discipline under Edwards has significantly improved. Combine that with with their flair and dangerous backs makes them very threatening. They are now bringing through a lot of good young players too.

Good to hear Geordan on commentary, and Benny Kayser.

Next match home to the Sweaties in two weeks! As an aside, I wonder if the absence of a full stadium is having an effect, particularly for the home side ? From my point of view, I think it is. Yesterday’s result in Edinburgh may have been different, and today’s too.

Ireland are never going to win playing Moeen Ali at 9. Doesn't he usually bat 10 or 11?

Batted no.8 today
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Has a cracking spin pass.....

An Interesting game, France probably just deserved to win, you're watching thinking Dupont is quiet today, then boom!!

Both 9s played the full 80 as well.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Or, in France’s case, the ‘neuf’. Slightly amused by Pearce’s admirable attempt to converse in French.

Indeed, I was quite impressed. One or two words of franglais crept in, but I’m sure his efforts were much appreciated by the players.

Will watch with interest throughout the rest of the tournament but it seems that Shaun Edwards is already exerting quite an influence in terms of discipline in the French defence. His signing could really prove a massive coup.. :smt001
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Although the defence was quite good yesterday, Edwards will be far from satisfied and will no doubt be laying into the players with some choice French expletives in order to improve it for the visit of the Scots on Sunday the 28th!
