Toulon have just pulled out of the match though according to recent reports.

The whole thing is a mess!

It did seem strange that Scarlets could put a team out. If any that aren't isolating are to test positive it vindicates Toulon's decision.

Yep, a mess!

Scarlets have a covid case, so Bath and Toulon forfeit their matches this weekend and Scarlets get a win by default, I assume :smt017

Scarlets have changed their entire 4-8, so I'm guessing it's one of those positions from the Bath game who tested positive. Also the 9, so I'd put my money on one of the back row.

I'd be very curious how pro rugby teams decide who has to isolate after a positive test - do they follow the same guidelines as the rest of us?

The player who has tested positive and all that he has been in close contact with will need to self isolate. Without knowing the player concerned, it is quite possible for Scarlets could raise a team.

Do you know if the pro rugby definition of close contact is the same as the general definition for the rest of us?

I think it's close contact for a certain time period in the game. I assume they use player GPS to work it out

I wonder if Toulon deliberately delayed withdrawing till after Scarlets announced their team, that way should any of that team test positive it shows them right to have cancelled, whereas pre-tream announcement Scarlets could say, oh he wouldn't have played etc

EDIT:
Or wanted to see how many were playing that played the other night before making a call

This is a mess, would things be different if teams knew the EPRC points stand pre tournament? Which begs the question, the EPRC know the virus situation. It’s farcical that they didn’t sort this all beforehand. Unless they are thinking of doing it case by case but then that would be even more ludicrous!

The report says Toulon match "postponed" I thought EPRC had said matches would not be postponed because of the tight schedule :smt017 . Am I missing something
