Aside from France, did he have any other options? Moved the family up to the North West and don't think anyone else is going to risk any money on him so possibly the choices were limited.

Not sure I look at the Falcons squad and think "what they need is another backrow", unless they are managing to unload Hardie or de Walt.

That was news to me too as I'd heard nothing at all about his leaving Rouen. Just read that he tore a hamstring playing for Rouen in January and sought treatment in England, but earlier in January it was reported that he'd be leaving at the end of the season. So with this injury the immediate termination of his contract was mutually agreed so that "he could be closer to his family".
