Could be, adds some depth at 6 which allows Martin to maybe step up to the 2nd row. Also can play lock himself.

Also if popcorn day is tomorrow it explains Sarries annoucing he's leaving today.

There will be some who don't want him due to his current club but he could be a good fit? Did Borthwick’s time at Sarries overlap with his?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

If Rhodes is still anywhere near his best he's a top player.

That would be a meh from me. Very good player, especially a few years ago, but he's had a lot of injuries in the last 3 seasons and at 33 those aren't going to get better.

Sarries initially signed Cobus Wiese to replace him, then when the salary cap stuff kicked off they lost Wiese to Sale and Isiekwe on loan so extended Rhodes by a season.

If we're going for another back row I'd hope that it's a player such as Polledri that is effectively too good to turn down. Otherwise any big signings in the pack I'd prefer to be either a lock or a blindside that can play lock to a very high level a la Jacques du Plessis.

Rhodes is the type of signing I don't mind too much.
It's all about price but he's the type of forward IMO that would help a lot in training etc.

All about Value in this case I guess.

Naholo leaving Irish.
Whilst I doubt his price tag has dropped much during the last couple of seasons, if it had dropped and he was looking to stay in the UK I wouldn’t say no.

Hoping he might rock up to the Fijian super rugby team though.

If Rhodes is coming I think he will do a good job and is not dissimilar to Wallace and Thompson. Good squad players who tried hard and did well at Tigers whilst here. Rhodes may be a slight step up from them but I think they both stepped up at Tigers. That may be with my Tigers Rose tinted spectacles on.

Opportunities overseas implies outside the UK - so thinking France or Japan.

Personally if you are a top welsh player I don't see how you can be happy coming towards the end of your prime rugby age playing for one of the regions unless you are someone like AWJ who just lives for the country and a figurehead.

Why wouldn't you look for better pay and really a better team with more potential of winning something?

According to Wikipedia 6 foot 4:and 17 and a half stone so would suggest not big enough for a lock and not good enough to be first choice in our back row

32 International caps 7 in the last year suggest he does fine at lock.
(Wales site seem to have him 6ft 5 and 18st 3)

Would sooner develop Martin and Henderson than recruit an average lock
