Anyone think Tigers might take Tommy Matthews from Saints? He's a young FH who was highly regarded by them? I think he is Welsh so that could affect the quotas but he may be someone as a younger 10 we may pick up?

Sounds like Eroni Sau leaving Edinburgh.
Would be a player that adds attacking threat.

Wouldn’t be a bad option but with him being 31 I can’t help but feel we are covered with Nemani and Kini playing that experienced, strong carrier role on the wing.RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 11:04 pm Sounds like Eroni Sau leaving Edinburgh.

And most likely on a salary we can afford.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:38 pm Anyone think Tigers might take Tommy Matthews from Saints? He's a young FH who was highly regarded by them? I don’t know much about him but Dan Lancaster could be another option if he’s good enough. He and Matthews could be worth a punt. If only one of them came off, it would be a success.
Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21
Craig Willis could be a decent option from Ealing. I don't think Henry or McPhillips are bad 10s at all but I'd honestly rate Willis the more rounded player from what I've seen of him.
Ideally we need someone closer to 20 than 30 though as third FH behind Ford and Burns. Tom Curtis at Sale, George Barton at Bristol, Will Hayden-Wood at Falcons. Those sorts of players. Young talents that might be tempted away as we lost Costelow and Umaga previously.
Losing Costelow is even more frustrating when he would have played much more at Tigers this season than he has with Scarlets.

Currently Ford will be the youngest senior flyhalf at the club for next season. So a flyhalf under 25 or ideally 23 would be good future planning.ABClub wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:09 am Craig Willis could be a decent option from Ealing. Dokie's idea of Dan Lancaster would work out well as he's down in tier three with Yorkshire/Leeds and playing regular senior rugby but also featuring in the England under 20s. We could offer him game time as third choice which might away his decision to move as opposed to stay.
Otherwise agreed ABC it's time to go pilfering for a flyhalf not getting a look in from someone else's development squad ala Curtis. Costelow really was a gutting loss and I think he may regret going a little bit.

Ok so it was only 12 months ago he left, but a lot in the club has changed. The world also has changed in that time. What are the odds of drawing him back from Wales?sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 7:41 amCurrently Ford will be the youngest senior flyhalf at the club for next season. Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Brett Herron wouldn’t be a bad acquisition in my opinion.
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

I retract the thinking he is Welsh, just seen he’s been included in the England U20s squad. Could be a smart pickup - especially if he gets some game time with JVP at 9-10!RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:38 pm Anyone think Tigers might take Tommy Matthews from Saints?
