I suspect if he hasn’t got Covid and he’s out of mandatory isolation from travelling from South Africa, Wiese could be involved.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Given they're involved as coaches I suspect given the limited preparation SB will go for experience and have those coaches on the field at the weekend so am expecting Wigglesworth and Bonilla to start

Agree, expecting a kicking game with a hard chase. Who better to orchestrate that than Wigglesworth.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Looked to have some physicality about him as well. Hopefully he gets a go this season. I'd guess at a Potter, van Wyk, Steward back three for the weekend.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
That's the interesting thing for me is whether Tom Youngs will remain club captain under Borthwick? I suspect yes but who knows...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Given his resurgence since Borthwick came in I'd say so yeah!

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Possibly but I thought we have signed the Georgian hooker that played against England last weekend?
I suspect that club captain rather than first team captain would be more appropriate and allows easier rotation of the front row in a condensed season.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Leave the captaincy as it is. It is a field position which is normally split in a 60/20 ratio or thereabouts so the on field captaincy is normally transferred for part of the game. Unless injured he will most likely be a 'starter' or 'finisher'.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Yes Mamukashvili played after lockdown a few times for us, but Youngs is no.1 choice.
Just looking at performances and the way the team was being picked pre lockdown
(assuming SB picking teams) Mamukashvili is roughly thought to be on a level with Kerr as 3rd choice behind Youngs and Clare.
Obviously as a newish player he may move up the ranks but don't see him unseating Youngs given how he played post lockdown.
Captain not playing every week for rotation is fine, but Youngs (barring injury) is likely to play a good chunk of the games.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester
Its been said that Borthwick and Tom Y will be doing the press interviews today i would say TY is nailed as capt for the coming season
