So Ludlum and Ford to miss out on the 23 then. No 6/2 split and no lock at 6 👍

If he's fully fit no way Jones has Malins in the squad over Ford. Eddie trusts Ford to deliver, he's not got that (yet) with Malins.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I'm not sure he is but suspect he's fit enough to be selected or I wouldn't have thought Eddie would havr kept him when he trimmed the squad otherwise.

The Fact that Ford has been named (not as rehab unlike Marler and Marchant) suggests that he will feature.

Fiji vs Italy off due to 29 cases of Covid in the Fiji camp. Lets hope it wasn't the Leicester strain that caused it!

I think Eddie's looking to Ford to fix some of his backline problems. I hope he goes with Genge and Stuart again over Vunipola and Sinckler but I doubt it.

Having watched England's 'The Next Level' on Youtube, Eddie's remarks about playing 9 forwards make sense in the fact that if he trains Thorley to be able to push in the flanks on the scrum and do the odd clean out then if selected on the wing and someone is binned in the forward pack, he could then move to the forwards and there would be little disruption and we wouldn't have the debacle of Jonny May doing his best blindside flanker impression again.

Sad to see that Fiji have had to pull out again due to covid. I was looking forward to seeing just how good they are in this type of competition, particularly against the likes of Italy and dare I say Scotland.

Absolute disaster for them, the Pacific Islands as a whole and rugby in general. This was an opportunity to allow themselves to push their way into tier 1. If nothing else, they would have lifted the spectacle of what has been a pretty uninspiring set of matches so far.

Would have been an interesting indicator of where both Fiji and Italy are, but never mind.

In all honesty , I don't think it is beyond the realms of possibility that Fiji will not take the field at all in this tournament...

I think it is almost nailed on.

I haven't seen anything stating which players have tested positive.
