Looks like a good team, not sure how Furbank made it in but Eddie must know something we don't.

Daly is weak in defence and wouldn’t be my choice but I can understand selection.

I just don’t get Furbank as Anthony Watson (bring on Thorley), Max Malins, Mike Brown and even our own Freddie Steward are much better options.

Congrats Lenny

Not a big fan of Slade at 12 but I guess it counts little against Italy, Lt. Furbank has struggled with form at club level and hasn't had an amazing start to his international career but I would prefer him over Daly. Good to see Hill start, as well as the uncapped trio on the bench I just hope Dunn actually gets brought on this time!

Furbank is an odd one, when he was selected earlier in the year he was in great form. The whole team him included didn’t play well against France then the conditions in Scotland were awful so difficult to pass judgement. Since then his form in the premiership along with Saints has been poor. So interesting to see how he does, especially with Malins in the squad.

Long term I could easily see Steward being the answer at 15. England seem to play better with a more solid player at the back, plus Steward has shown he’s got a good kicking game and link play.

No question , great achievement by Ben Youngs.
Long term however , England have to start looking actively for his successor (in my opinion) .....
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Well done Ben !! Cant argue with that really. 10 Years or so at the top. Selected by multiple coaches and whilst Eddie (for me) can be questioned over some choices, he almost got us the RWC and his ledger is massively in the positive.

Robson coming on after 60 will be interesting as ITA may start to really creak at that stage I think .... the ENG boys know they need tries .. so after 20 mins settling down the ITA pack I suspect ENG will score well.

Well done to BY, huge achievement. I hope Robson gets plenty of minutes though, it would be thoroughly deserved and, as SimonP says, he could cause havoc against a tiring Italy.

Personally, I'd put Watson at 15 every time, but Daly really isn't that bad and Furbank is probably worth another chance. The idea that Steward is currently a better option for England at 15 is just plain silly.

Daly at international level is a utility player.
Not a starter but capable of covering wing, centre and full back.

Ben played well.

Well done Benny. 100 caps is a great achievement and two tries is a great way to mark it. He looked pretty sharp as well just unfortunate he had such a dismal performance from his flyhalf who after creating the first try with a lovely break disappeared from the game.
