Leicester’s contingent (including Joe Heyes) have all been retained.
I can't wait to see Joe's face when he walks into the tunnel tomorrow for the first time and then hopefully in an England shirt next Sunday

He could very well play against the Barbarians, whether or not it will lead to a full cap is doubtful considering he has got Sinckler, Williams & Stuart to compete with.

Williams will be in back to back finals so should be given a week to rest after that. Sinckler hobbled off against us and was only fit enough for the bench last weekend. He's starting tonight but if he limps off again that could create a spot. If Heyes shows up well Vs the Baabaas he might get the chance off the bench in another game.

It's a possibility, and I would love it for him if he had that opportunity. Sinckler may have been on the bench last week but I believe that was tactical and he's starting tonight for the Bears. As for Williams you may be right but even so I think the chance is slim. I just hope Joe gets a chance for the Baabaas game on the 25th.

Tactical to leave your best and most mobile tighthead on the bench and start Afoa who is now mid thirties and a bit quiet outside of the tight exchanges? Opting for the less mobile option against arguably the most mobile team in the league. Suicidal thinking if Lam wasn't just protecting a player not 100%.

Maybe the plan was to have the more experienced Afoa be a bedrock at the set-piece and let Sinckler offer impact off the bench... who knows.

Eddie Jones has named a 32 man squad for the Baabaas this Sunday, interestingly he has only named two tightwads (Will Stuart and our own Joe Heyes) whilst it is an uncapped fixture it is still great news!

Ford, Youngs & Genge also retained.

I'm thinking something along the lines of this:

1. Genge
2. George
3. Stuart
4. Itoje
5. Ewels
6. Dombrandt*
7. Underhill
8. B. Vunipola
9. Youngs
10. Ford
11. May
12. Farrell
13. Lawrence*
14. Thorley*
15. Furbank
16. Dunn*
17. Obano*
18. Heyes*
19. Moon*
20. Hill
21. Mitchell*
22. Dingwall*
23. Marchant

*Denotes uncapped player.

Great to see Heyes still in the squad. No doubt for these young players being involved in the set up does wonders for their development.

I'd guess that Jones will go pretty much full strength to give the team minutes before the Italy game.

1.Vunipola 2.George 3.Sinckler 4.Itoje 5.Ewels 6.Curry 7.Underhill 8.Vunipola
9.Youngs 10.Ford 11.May 12.Farrell 13.Joseph 14.Watson 15.Furbank

16.Dunn 17.Genge 18.Stuart 19.Moon 20.Hill 21.Wilson 22.Heinz 23.Marchant

Not what I'd go with but I think Jones will give the first XV (minus Launchbury, Slade, Nowell and maybe Hill) minutes together. There's a congested international schedule coming up so I think Jones will try to get a couple of big wins for momentum/confidence then rotate.

I can't wait to see Ted Hill and Joe Marchant get starts over the next few months. Big talents.

A pal from Newcastle messaged me a link to some Falcons training photos it looks like Mark Wilson has eaten Mark Wilson during lockdown. He looks gigantic. It will be interesting to see how that transfers to international performance. He hasn't had a bad game for England and when fit has come straight back into the 23 in both the RWC and 6 Nations.

He had a five match ban which as far as I'm aware has already been completed.

All very well and said, however Sinckler isn't available because Bears players are still on standby.

It's just trying players out in my opinion.
I'd find it a bit disappointing were Farrell at 12 but who else do you pick!
England need some sparks.
Reinach for example transformed Saints.
