How can it go ahead? Unless Sale have trained 2 squads in isolation, given the contact in the game and by inference training I would have thought the others would need to self isolate.

If Manu’s injury hadn’t been serious and Covid likewise one might be tempted to gloat over smug Diamond.

You'd think so, but the club have come out and said they're planning on playing, so it's now in the hands of the league to make a call. I'm not Diamond's biggest fan but playing this game seems reckless in the extreme. I can see the government putting a complete stop on rugby again if there ends up being transmission from one team to another if they can't agree not to play

Is it worth me pointing out that the 20-0 loss rule is if players or clubs have been found to break the rules, or does everyone hate Diamond so much that truth and accuracy are unwanted inconveniences?

That makes more sense in terms of virus if remaining players self isolate. eg. When Jofra Archer broke the protocol on the bubble he had to have 5 days isolating and produce a negative test result. ie give the virus time to incubate if already caught.

However from a rugby standpoint it looks silly. What's their plan get 23 guys plus staff to isolate together so they can train, or are they going to have them go in no preparation.

Seems very forced to give Sale a chance at the semifinals...

Audit on their test and trace carried out

With proven infection in the squad unless everyone has been training in hazmat then how can you possibly not require all at the club to self isolate. Early in the infection the test may not yield a positive result so anyone negative on tuesday may now not be. Needs repeating 3 -5 days later also.

Northampton game cancelled as they don't have enough front rowers as some players are in self isolation after the Sale game. The Sale game however is postponed even though they are unable to field a team? How the hell does that happen.
