Re: Team vs Saints
With a bit of luck, Tigers could go above Wuss in the table if Wuss go home with nothing from Irish,

Well a win is a win.
Always sweeter against Saints.
Funny how saints went from having one of the best attacks too this.
Defence was good, discipline not
A few bright sparks individually attack wise.
Generally better game management and without Ford is a big +
funny how some posters only really post in match threads when we are losing.

Yep lucky you weren’t there to see us win the local derby, get a rare win and witness some very impressive performances by Steward, Nadolo, Henry, Porter.. good news!Greenwhiteandred wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 3:58 pm The good news - at least I didn’t have to pay to watch this dross live

That was a bit silly by Barnes, it wasn’t a penalty offenceTiglon wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 4:00 pmWas that really the worst thing anyone said during the whole melee?

Indeed. After what we’ve been through recently......and with virtually no attacking play.....and with having three players in the sin bin......and it’s Stains. Just......enjoy......the win.
Re: Team vs Saints
Well, a result, in thanks to Steward, great prospect, Henry, quite a talent, and Nadolo. Upgrade the reserves with some flyers and we will be back in business.

Re: Team vs Saints
Result was just what we needed and so was the performance from the side, nice to see new names in the side and hearing their names constantly in the radio commentary, a bit of needle at the end too, just what the doctor ordered, some passion and no stepping backwards, well played Tigers, in their faces all afternoon, good lines speed from the backs too in defence.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Re: Team vs Saints
Good win and as one of the commentators said, the score flatters saints. Great defence and some good individual performances.
Loving Henry. Great buy and rough around the edges but who cares. Great to have a 2nd fly half who has ambition to play.
The yellow cards killed us a bit but we won.
Not going to complain or can’t complain. We have moved up a place in the table, so positives all round.

There is never any points for 2nd place...

Re: Team vs Saints
Don't get me wrong, glad of a win, but performances like that will lose more often than they win, 3 yellow cards would normally cost you the game alone. I don't think that puts us in a good position for next season, you are free to disagree.
No, not that one!
Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...
I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?

Re: Team vs Saints
End of the day a win is a win and some standout performances for Tigers today. Both wingers looked potent ball in hand and massive credit to Steward, only 19 but no doubt will be a mainstay in the 15 shirt.
Henry stepped up massively to fill the boots of Ford, class player who will become invaluable in the future international windows.
Bar the yellow card, Liebenberg was our standout forward for me and looks like 8 is his best position. Just gives him that bit more freedom on the pitch.
Porter and then Potter both have natural ability and will only get better with more minutes on the pitch.
Felt like a strength coming into the game was our discipline. Stupid penalties let us down today but hopefully just the emotions of the derby getting to some players. Other teams would punish us, but seems Saints are the worst premiership team of 2020. Probably a bit hard done by with 3 yellow cards, maybe by the letter of the law correct, but you never see other teams so harshly dealt with.

Happy with the win and there were some positives but it was still a dross game - other than a lucky try for Lenny we really did not threaten their line all game and if Saints had taken their opportunities in the red zone the result would likely have been different.

It's almost like defence can win matches.Greenwhiteandred wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 4:15 pm Happy with the win and there were some positives but it was still a dross game - other than a lucky try for Lenny we really did not threaten their line all game and if Saints had taken their opportunities in the red zone the result would likely have been different.
