With the suspension of European fixtures, the 15th round of the Top14 has been brought forward to the weekend of January 23rd/24th:

Montpellier v Racing
Clermont v Bordeaux
Bayonne v Agen
Brive v Toulon
Lyon v Pau
S Français v Castres
La Rochelle v Toulouse (top of the table crunch)

Why can't the Premiership do the same? :smt017

They could have but chose not to - from what I've read the clubs were split on the issue.

Donavan Taofifenua has been in an excellent form though, from his stunning finish versus Connacht to his performance versus Harlequins. Hasn't he also been capped at U20s level?

I saw Georges Henri-Colombe also play for Racing versus Harlequins, big fella who needs a bit of timber trimming down but again another fantastic young prop.

Let's take a look at the ProD2 table now that we're more or less half-way through the season.

1 Perpignan - played 15/points 54 (Perry Freshwater is forwards' coach)
2 Vannes 16/54 (Vannes is in southern Brittany and Nick Abendanon plays for them)
3 Biarritz 14/45 (Steffon Armitage is the current captain)
4 Colomiers 14/44
5 Oyonnax 14/41
6 Nevers 15/36 (Nevers is in the Burgundy region and lies about mid-way between Clermont and Orléans. Zach Henry played for them before joining Tigers)
7 Provence 14/32
8 Beziers 15/32
9 Montauban 14/27
10 Aurillac 15/26
11 Grenoble 14/26
12 Carcassonne 15/25
13 Rouen 15/23 (coached by former England scrum half Richard Hill and England 2nd row Tom Palmer. Carl Fearns plays for them)
14 Mont de Marsan 13/22
15 Valence Romans 14/21
16 Angoulême 15/18

The top 4 sides play off for promotion with the winner promoted, and the runner-up has a play-off against the second-bottom club in the Top14.
Normally, the bottom two clubs are relegated to Fédérale 1.

Very close matches this weekend, and Racing could well have won the match if it hadn't been for Virimi Vakatawa taking his time to touch the ball down for a try! Here's the video:

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

And from an experienced French international player too. I would imagine that he got a hell of a :censored: from his coaches and fellow players!

RichieB wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:22 pm M. Robespierre - did you see the Nevers player get sent off for lifting the ref up in celebration? My initial reaction was that it was such a shame as the guy was clearly so happy about the try being declined, but in hindsight it isn’t acceptable to touch the ref (Neil Back!!) and if I’d have been the coach I’d be fuming at such a stupid act even though it might have been well intentioned.
Hi, Richie. No, I haven’t seen it. Might find a clip somewhere. I’ll check it out.
. Seen it! The Fijian winger seemed rather pleased with the victory in a close match and celebrated by hoisting the ref, who didn’t appreciate it at all!! Here’s the link:
https://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr ... 13212.html
The player has copped a whopping 5-week ban! Even taking into account that players shouldn’t make any physical contact with the ref, I can’t help thinking that 5 weeks is far too excessive.

Maybe, but it wasn't a heat of the moment thing, so 4 or 5 weeks probably where it should be,.
