Could have been much worse as we saved a 50 pointer

Or to put it another way, we played really well 2nd half

Lesson learned the kids play better when they have some experience around them.

Far too positive for some.

As I said from minute one mate, not with hindsight either! A team then kids then A team was badly wrong, you mix it up. Let's hope the coaches have learned their lesson!

Agreed, although maybe Borthwick has learnt about the likes of Hardwick (constantly backing off in defence) in the first half by fielding the team he did.

Not saying it’s nice to expose young players in that fashion but I’m sure he’ll argue that those that come through those tests will be key moving forward.

Maybe harsh but if SB learns about their mettle in that way then some of those young players will no doubt step up in months to come - others might not get many more chances

Positives, really? You know we shipped 46pts to 8th place?

Showing that kind of performance is fine when the opposition have already logged off. I’ll wait until I see it for a full game before I claim we’re on the way up.

I suspect the closer we get to the Castres game the more we will see the firsts play together. At the moment it’s more a case of bedding in new systems, getting game time into the whole squad and protecting player welfare.
