Either way we needed to play a weaker team against Bath or London Irish. I know unpopular but at least putting out a strong team against London Irish gives us a good chance of a win. Worst case scenario could have been 3 loses in a row.

There are periods where it's obvious that one team is first choice and experienced and the other is young and inexperienced.

Thom Smith looks very good though, ridiculous call by the ref to say the ball wasn't out of the ruck just before the second Bath try. Ben White is showing leadership and having a strong game. Henry seems calm and composed at the back.

I'm not sure McPhillips will get another shot at the 10 shirt any time soon if he doesn't improve his performance

Looked to be a blatant forward pass on the left wing to me

Definitely was, but they never get called these days.

Bath are playing well but the difference in experience and quality is vast.

This and Wednesday's games are looking like futile exercises for Tigers. Today we will learn that our 2nd team is worse than Bath's 1st team. On Wednesday we'll (hopefully..) learn that our 1st team is better than LI's 2nd team.

Also games are coming thick and fast so we need to utilise the whole squad. Just difficult to get my head around not playing the strongest possible line up against Bath. I get that we’re not going to be relegated but why should we accept being second bottom ? All very strange and tricky to get used to.
I think the logic is to give us the best chance of getting to not second bottom it is less of a risk to put a near first 15 against London Irish on Wednesday as that same team might have lost narrowly today and then the team we're playing today would be what took on London Irish on Wednesday and they might lose too, two narrow losses being worse than a win and a pasting...

Plus, extend preseason for 20-21 chance to learn about the deeper squad for free all providing foundations for a better future...
Also worth noting LI made 10 changes today from the team that played last week; maybe they are doing the same as us?
Probably. From both sides point of view Wednesday will be a good dress rehearsal for next year's relegation scrap based on what we've seen so far this afternoon.

What's a good score from here? Anything under 11-40?
No, not that one!

Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...

I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?
