Perhaps it will mean we can spend the rest of this season developing our squad, tactics & attacking structure, while bringing on a few of our own youngsters such as Martin, Henderson, Chessum & JvP without the pressure of relegation. We have made a much better start to this season, the signs are promising and it's the West Country boys that are propping up the table at the bottom not us. I think both Bath and Glos seem to be going in the opposite direction to us and without wholesale changes they are in real trouble.
Nobody wants to finish bottom of the pile and perhaps giving their youngsters some game time will bring better results than fielding some of the slightly 'past their best Internationals' that just aren't cutting it anymore. Bath and Glos have been, as far as I'm aware, fielding almost full strength teams so far and have been getting thumped. Can't get much worse with the youngsters can it?
Ultimately I think it's the right call imho. Pressure is off now so please can we see some more ball in hand attacking play, better attacking structure, less aimless kicking and work on regularly pushing for a top 4 spot again soon.

Clearly it's not all about us but quite frankly Tigers are the only team I'm really interested in. Player safety and people's health is another matter and that is extremely important no matter what club you support but as far as getting the most from what is now a dead rubber of a season (European qualification aside), building for the future, developing our youngsters and coming back and mounting a serious challenge next season.. well that is about us and that's what I'm hoping for given this announcement.
So yes, there are 11 other teams in the league but my post was about how we as a club, the players and the coaches now treat the remainder of this season and how we continue to rebuild..

Are any rules going to be introduced to stop all teams manipulating the final standings for the play offs and Europe by selecting weakened teams in certain fixtures?

That is completely different to all clubs unanimously voting for the changes.
True but if they are all in agreement, why would they vote differently?
Not sure but it’s not as if they would’ve released a statement saying all clubs are in support of the new changes except such and such who voted against it.

All games matter and no one will want to start next season with morale low because of poor results: we’ve been there and are still struggling.
Give every game your best shot!
Secondly, apart from the rich clubs everyone else will want to get fans back and hopefully get some new ones!
I still won’t relax tomorrow vQuins as, like all of us, hate losing any game.
So come on City and Tigers then come on England.

The same reason we played a fair few youngsters once Saracens were relegated.
But I’m not sure that’s what did do, we played the youngsters when the season restarted as SB was using it as preseason for this year. Why would a team want to finish bottom even if they can’t be relegated- you have to think the clubs have some pride

Scrapping relegation makes perfect sense under the circumstances.Really hope however that fixtures remain meaningful in the eyes of all clubs and a season of genuine competition remains a priority.
The future however for those below The Premiership does not look great however ; realistically just who will be capable of gatecrashing The Premiership top table.We could be looking at a closed shop in all but name in the not too distant .......

Look at last night,Gloc turn up without the pressure of relegation and Bath get a TBP win at Sale. Does it have anything to do with relegation being scrapped? Too early to tell but those who are trotting the meaningless games line just sit back ,if last nights anything to go by we could be in for a treat!
