Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
It's just one aspect but that will be a draw to players.
Bristol are definitely going to be a team to watch over the coming seasons.
As will be Tigers of course.

A great advert for all that is wrong with the game perhaps?
Great for Bristol. Not the best look when the rest of domestic rugby is heading towards financial oblivion.

Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
Great facility not so sure about them being one to watch while they splash the cash on very few players, but that’s only my opinion
Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
I think Bristol play exciting rugby and are definitely worth watching, but any team with a small squad may struggle with 9 premiership games in 6 weeks. For Tigers I think this is a bonus. Borthwick and his coaches have a great opportunity as they will be forced to rotate the team for the three midweek matches.

To be fair, this has been in the planning long before any notion that the game needed to be reset financially (even if it has been unsustainable for years!).
Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
Won’t have any effect on their playing budget, it’s just an extra carrot that their billionaire owner is able to afford.Cardiff Tig wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 7:46 pm To be fair, this has been in the planning long before any notion that the game needed to be reset financially (even if it has been unsustainable for years!).
Similar to the new LCFC facility
Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
So the two West Country rivals Bath and Bristol have the best training facilities in the premiership. Should help with future recruitment.
Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
Yes and Wasps have allegedly asked Bristol if they can have their old training facility transferred up to Coventry as they cannot afford a new one!

Perhaps shows the advantages of a (rich) benefactor in these times , although obviously the project has been in the making some time.Home grown talent from now on in ?
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

This is worth a look:

Certainly the best rugby training facilities I have ever seen and a reflection of what can happen when you have an owner where money is no object. That said, I still think than in the long term with its supporter base Tigers will come out on top

Re: Bristol splashing cash - new training facility
It's definitely some facility, I do wonder though if it's a little bit too much. In terms of financials this was long in the planning and construction had started a few months or so before lockdown so I don't think that's an issue.
In terms of playing squad, Bristol are a quality loosehead away from being a genuine Top 2 contender, all in my opinion of course.

It's also a nice investment when divesting to a hedge fund......
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.
