I’m with everyone else - bored of the Manu situation. He was gone in 12 months anyhow so I would have thought that the Tigers coaching team were already planning for life without Manu - we may need to find a stopgap for 12 months or look to accelerate those plans.......on the bright side it might allow the team development and playing style to step forward rather than having to work with what we had.
If following the RFU decision on not giving Manu dispensation if he played in Europe, then Manu or Freddie decide the Tigers offer is now the best available and decide to remain here, then I for one will have very little respect for him given his number of games and the last few weeks attitude to Tigers.
I was most impressed with Matt Scott's attitude and hope he can fill the void along with other keen Tigers.

I must admit it doesn’t seem worth the effort if he is only signing on for one year. Moreover, it makes me wonder if the issue for Manu was not the 25% reduction but having to commit to a longer contract without a break clause.
I suspect the issue is Manu had a year left on a two year contract, with the 19/20 period as a marquee. So his contract from this week would have been worse anyway, and then asked to take 25 on that.
Then you factor in a longer term contract being offered. Agains, probably on far worse money than before and possibly not as a marquee at any point.
Suddenly the French/Japanese pay check is hugely attractive even without England cash. Sale may have a route in if they’ve left a bit of headroom in their long term squad have a marquee slot available in a season or two.
Wish him well whatever , and respect his position. But ultimately players either want to play for The Club or they do no not. This type of wrangling (to me) tells a particular story. In this (business) life also, everyone has a price and a worth. One way or the other , get it done with and move on.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
