I wonder if there are more announcements to come today? The snapshot of Brink is either a book end or a break up of the re-signing announcements

Think Wales are going to have to alter their stance due to finances, it doesn't affect him till he actually has caps I believe.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:42 pmhow long term will long term be given his international future?Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:39 pm There is more than a passing resemblance to Warburton in the way Reffell plays, that is huge for us long term.

Bondi suggested on Twitter before White's announcement that there'd be one more today, so now I'm guessing that's it till tommorowlonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:53 pm I wonder if there are more announcements to come today? Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

it doesn't, and maybe they will but he could be capped pretty quickly then suddenly we have another Jonah Holmes situation on our hands, but at least this time we always knew he was WelshWayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:54 pmThink Wales are going to have to alter their stance due to finances, it doesn't affect him till he actually has caps I believe.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:42 pmhow long term will long term be given his international future?Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:39 pm There is more than a passing resemblance to Warburton in the way Reffell plays, that is huge for us long term.

I admit it I was conned, I fell for the 15 signings :( I didn't realise it would be a rehash of the youth we already have

To be fair - I think they were promoted as 'renewals'...

Pretty obvious it was 15 re-signings.
Who would honestly think we had the space for 15 signings

WQP players are eligible whilst playing outside of Wales if they signed their current contract before being capped. So Tommy will be eligible for the duration of that contract.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:54 pmThink Wales are going to have to alter their stance due to finances, it doesn't affect him till he actually has caps I believe.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:42 pmhow long term will long term be given his international future?Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:39 pm There is more than a passing resemblance to Warburton in the way Reffell plays, that is huge for us long term.
There's also the potential that he has signed a contract with rolling renewals similar to Tomas Francis at Chiefs. I certainly hope so.

Isn't there something about that only applying if they weren't offered a contract by a welsh region? could be wrong.

Not that I know of, daktari. Thomas Young was offered a contract with the regions that he turned down to stay at Wasps prior to being capped. His latest Wasps contract does rule him out of Wales selection though.

That may change rapidly if Pivac wants it.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Wouldn't it be sensible to put in a clause by which the potential future Wales international's contract can be extended by three years upon their first international selection. With a rolling annual extension available each year thereafter for a further three years. Extension kicks in before first cap is won and club and player have the option to remain working together without hindering international ambitions. Player gets the advantage of financial security so is less likely to be tempted back towards home.ABClub wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 2:55 pmWQP players are eligible whilst playing outside of Wales if they signed their current contract before being capped. One 'small' point in all these re-signings today, I don't know if any of the players were above the threshold for a 25% cut or not, in which, they would have to (re-) sign a new contract. However, on the Twitter feed, each photo of the re-signing player has the word 'Extended' on it. How long the extensions are for isn't said, but would be at least until end of 20/21 season, if not 21/22, depending on how long the prior contract was for.
