Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
Here’s a thought, has Taufua not been confirmed because he has a later deadline due to being late back into the country??
Could be he's decided already, hence Veianu’s comments, but since there is maybe still time till his deadline, the club have left him off the list?

Now is the time to show our loyalty and back a great club with a massive history and potentially a great future.
Our thoughts should be with the 31 loyal staff who have been laid off and the rest of the squad both coaching and playing who have all signed up to what is going to happen moving forward.
It is only commercial sense that the players had to contribute to the problem everybody faces. We are a significant business loosing significant sums of money
To those that are going farewell if your heart was really with us you would have found a way around the problems ( if you had wanted to ) I don't really care now how good you might have been or were or how much we supported them through injuries etc.
We want players who want to play for us and yes make a fair living but not hang out for more when all others have agreed
Lets move on and just pray we have a club to support and some opposition to play !!

Again, I'm afraid, the dust has to settle and then we can survey the scene.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

In case not seen, Jan McGinity responded directly to Alex Lowe's tweet of taufua also leaving the club, saying 'I wouldn't believe everything you read in the media!'
So the club are confident Jordan is staying - hopefully a confirmed squad list and details of extensions will be announced in the coming days as saints have done.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
Saints are likely to face issues in the coming months as they have only signed their players on 12 month contracts with a 10% pay reduction.....awkward discussions to follow!TA30 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:45 am In case not seen, Jan McGinity responded directly to Alex Lowe's tweet of taufua also leaving the club, saying 'I wouldn't believe everything you read in the media!'

I’m probably going to cop a lot of stick for saying this, but imo I won’t miss Manu. Think he had become a bit overrated for the amount of salary cap he was taking up. I’m more upset that we are losing JordanTaufua and in particular Telusa.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
It would be a poor show for Telusa to be announcing Jordan's departure from Tigers. That is Jordan's business to announce or, by agreement, the club or indeed someone else; I cannot imagine Jordan asking someone else to tell the world.

I tend to agree. We haven't seen him on the pitch much in recent seasons for reasons already explained. When he has played I dont think he has been that stand out to warrant the money paid; indeed I think his strongest contribution is to worry the opposition and make them commit more defenders to him, which to be fair is something in itself but still not enough in my view. I just wonder if he and his brother thought Tigers would never let a Tuilagi go.

Well, if the reports on earlier threads are true then it seems that Mrs V at least is very about the situation, so who knows what some people may do under these circumstances in the heat of the moment. Time will tell I guess.
