Believe Dusty is scouting for The Club and has input on player recruitment
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
From Facebook and Twitter:
Look at someone’s question and the clubs reply at the bottom.
It has been a BIG WEEK, as we continue to build for the future at Tigers HQ!
2⃣ coaching appointments
5⃣ Cubs making the step up
7⃣ Tigers commit to the club
And, we will discuss it all tonight on 𝐋𝐓𝐓𝐕 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐋𝐘 at 8.00pm with Geordan Murphy and Jan McGinity.
Question-Can they discuss when we should expect new signings?? And what we are looking to add?
Clubs response- Yes, they can. And will.
They might be even tell you where we are expecting to add players in the side.

Also from Twitter, Charlie Walker’s response to The Rugby Paper’s comment that he has rejected a move back to Tigers:
“Can’t reject a club when you haven’t spoken”

Thanks Tigerboy for both of those.
IMO Walker would be a poor signing

I feel like Walker's bridges have been burnt in relation to TigersTigerBoy1880 wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 3:49 pm Also from Twitter, Charlie Walker’s response to The Rugby Paper’s comment that he has rejected a move back to Tigers:

Nice to see McGinty is suited and booted for the occasion

Ben Muncaster has joined Edinburgh academy, explains why he wasn't moved into our Dev squad

Interesting that Ilione is going to a medical school in london.
Wonder what club we will work with.
Sounds an extremely bright lad.

Excellent chat with McGinity (I always thought it was McGinty). More players to come in and they’ll tell us “when the time is right”, which suggests they’re still in talks maybe ? Geordie said they’d be additions this week. Senior Squad will be 37 or 38 players, the new coaches sound great and it could be an exciting mix, onwards and upwards.

Yes well worth watching.westwinds31 wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 9:09 pm Excellent chat with McGinity (I always thought it was McGinty). Squad size of 37/38 implies two more players to come - could see it being Alemanno and Mapimpi and no more given the size of the dev squad
Never believe generalisations
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
Only 4 senior locks leaves us a bit light especially if Lavanini gets an Argentinian call up.
Hopefully a couple of the development lads will step up.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
Some interesting points.
Talked about having generic back three options, rather than out and out wingers or fullbacks. Highlighted Veianu and how he plays wing for Tonga rather than fullback. It sounds clear there are more additions to come here, and I got the impression it was more than one, but perhaps not strictly an out and out winger.
Also, talked about potentially having a fifth lock who can also cover back row. We currently only really have three senior options, but Wells can (and did last season) play at 6, also of Batley was to be added he can also cover. Maybe there will be no additional specialist back row as many assumed, but a hybrid lock / back row instead.
I thought there may still be scope for an additional prop, and the comment about someone able to play both sides being key, could point to Mulipola given the interest around his twitter bio this week, but equally it could be with reference to Leatigaga.
Not sure what to read into the said size comments. Current senior squad size -
6 props, 4 hookers, 3 locks, 6 back row.
3 scrum halves, 4 fly halves, 5 centres, 5 back three.
36 players.
Not sure 37/38 is workable when we still need a couple of back three players, a lock, additional back 5 depth and maybe a prop.
Albeit this does not include the players newly promoted from the academy, or development players Dimen, Whitcombe, Henderson, Chessum, Martin, Manz, Ashworth, Lavin, Gough, Smith, Law, Van Poortvielt, Browning, Kelly & Steward. I could have missed where some of these are classed as senior players and should be counted on the senior headcount.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
Liebenburg can step up to lock and we have four development locks which include Chessum who played a full season at Nottingham and Henderson who has made his first debut with Glasgow and both of them were called up to their respective under 20 squads for the 6N. Got to give the development lads a go at some point.
