Would take the methodology with a sizable pinch of salt - would appear (based on info given) that there are too many arbitrary factors together with a high degree of subjectivity for this 'algorithm' to be given any degree of credence bar that of minor interest.
Irrespective of 'ranking' George Ford's kicking has improved vastly in the last two seasons or so - a testament to his diligence, work ethic and desire. We are fortunate , we have a world class fly half who does not mind getting his hands dirty and who wants to improve and will lead by example.
We should not bemoan who or what we have lost when we have a player like George Ford - who actually wants to play for the club
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Totally agree - the point I was clumsily trying to make was that Wales-on-line were publishing it was because it gave 2 Welsh kickers as the best in the world. I was one who questioned and compared GF's record/percentage with FB and have been proved wrong - GF is much better kicker than FB now

It’s because Ford takes a lot less kicks at international level so his percentage is lower.

He has definitely improved off the tee, its his tactical kicking which he is near the top of the pile. (Is this his RL heritage?)

Kicking is where Biggar is way ahead of most, but way behind in attitude..
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Percentage isn't directly affected by how many you kick. It reflects the proportion of those you take that are successful.

Only take 10 kicks from the 22 and hit them all and your percentage is 100. Take 1 and score your percentage is still 100.

Take 10 from 50m and miss one and your percentage is 90.

Does that differentiate the better kicker? Stats have to be taken in context.
