Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Surely, an obvious choice for the Lions is Sam Simmonds? :smt079

It’s a massive setup from GP rugby to playing against a monster SA pack. It’s a risk but if it comes off Gatland could look a genius

I’d wondered about Simmons instead of Vunipola but having watched the pro 14 final, either Stander or Conan have to go with Faletau. Both were immense.

It’s up to Gatland whether he takes a gamble on form. Billy is the best out of the lot at his best but sadly he’s not there any more. Can he get to that level in the Championship? Very doubtful!

According to Chris Foy, the Lions squad will be announced on May 6th and will be streamlined down from 41 players selected in 2017 to 36 for this time round.

Any excuse for Gatland not to select the Scots :smt012...

Wonder what the split will be on 36?
6 x props
3 x hookers
5 x locks
7 x BR/8
3 x SH
3 x FH
4 x centre
5 x wing/FB

A lot might depend on if he takes Farrell as a 10 or 12 and dont forget Hògg could start the midweek games at FH

Which of our props play both sides other than Porter? Always handy

Marler is the only other one I can think off the top of my head
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

If you take 5 back 3 players then it’s Williams (starting FB),Hogg (ability to play 10),Watson then 2 from the rest. Gatland likes Daly too.
