Where is Gigena

Post by mol2 »

The last couple of games have exposed our scrum. Struggled against a very ordinary Worcester scrum until Bateman was replaced by lady gaga.

Where is Gigena?

Argentina, his visa expired and he is currently trying to get another one sorted so he can return.

He has developed into a very good scrummager I hope we get him back soon.

I presume there's issues with the visa. I doubt the club and player got to the expiration date and went "oh bother, what shall we do now". I don't know what issues but could be something like an expired passport.

Hope he's back soon.

Isn't he on loan at Glasgow or is that Cortes? I'm sure one of them is.

We could do with him back.Vastly improved and playing well.Tend to notice what is missing only when it isn't there.
Unfortunately a visa is not simply a stroll down to the Post Office and the stamping of a form.Red Tape ,bureaucracy and a potential (in some cases mandatory, though a formality) period of re qualification is necessary.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

We have form on cocking up visas/passports and work permits - Manu a few years ago!

Wasn't that because he'd come in on an educational visa before he joined the club and they weren't aware of the fact. So when he started playing/working he needed a different visa. I presume the club thought he had leave to remain.

Depends entirely on who's looking after the matter as it could be the player's representatives or it could be the club's lawyers.

Isn't the onus on the employer to sponsor the visa/work permit application?

Perhaps there is someone in the Home Office who could force & bully this through....

That is a Priti serious accusation! I imagine both the club and the player should take responsibility. I wonder who is paying his wages.......

That's only part of it. There are other factors, or that appeared to be the case when I googled it and read the couple pages of Gov.uk website I could bring myself to.
