Farrell is now in Wayne Rooney territory, people have said he is the best 10 for long enough now that they won't hear of an alternate opinion, so he will be picked simply because he is Owen Farrell, George will be a bench player if only one of them plays then when he comes on it will be the 12 that goes off because you cannot have Farrell not on the pitch, the fact Farrell is captain only makes this worse.

There is no point thinking of an England team without him for the next decade, unless he gets a long term injury to force an absence

can you switch in Rugby after playing competitive internationals? In Football you are cap tied once you do

No I don't think you can switch.
I think you can switch cross codes and sports though which I always found odd.

By the way I agree with your original point about Farrell.
