Last nights development match

Post by Mark62 »

I see they picked up a close win away to Worcester, an excellent result for what looked to be on paper quite an inexperienced side.
Did any posters attend? Were there any standout performances?

Looks like there was more action in the bar than on the pitch judging by the following comment from the match report on the Tigers website:
Scrum-half Van Poortvliet showed his pace in defence as he raced back to dot down behind the tryline from a kick through by the Warriors with Tigers still four pints in arrears.

Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

A scrum half having to neck 4 pints he’d be comatose afterwards

As usual Worcesters' Twitter feed was on the money throughout the game. They were breathing a sigh of relief at half time to be in front. Second half we had them under a lot of pressure to gain a decent lead. just as well as in the dying seconds we conceded a penalty try and had two binned! So Tigers would have phewed!

Jack van Poortvliet was picked for the England u20 6 Nations squad as well - alongside Whitecombe, Martin and Steward. Seems like another 9 off the production line to look out for.

Could it be that Mele is having an effect?
Leicester Tigers 1995-

Can’t be because that would mean a coach was appointed that was effective

He was a very good SH at Oakham School, playing a year up as I remember, coached of course by Dosser!

We've been churning out decent 9s without him. With him it should only get better.
