Wasps v Saints

Post by markharbtiger »

Go Saints Go! (unusual words for me to say)
So far, Wasps have no points from this...

We could be 10th at the end of this. Saints bench is ridiculously strong

Saints have secured their 5 points, but possibly too early in the game as might relax a bit...

How good are Saints. Very impressive. Makes you scratch your head and wonder why Tigers didn’t pick up Chris Boyd & and our own Sam Vesty. Willis decent for Wasps as well, must be in with a shout for the 6 Nations.

The Not Nots managed to get a TBP at home to the Chiefs - something Tigers couldn't. Pests have three tries and within six points of Stains with 20 mins to go so could get at least two points from the game.

Not 100% no, but Boyd joined Saints in August 2018, it was announced in January 2018. O’Connor was sacked in September 2018. I don’t think it’s too far off the mark to say he would have been an option when we were looking for a “world class coach”.

So no then purely conjecture on your part, so no real head scratching involved

I think Boyd was announced 6 months before we sacked MOC. So, probably available when we should have been looking for a HC, but not when we actually were looking (or not looking because it was decided Murphy was the answer). Might have been too early forconducted our worldwide search and found MOC.

The potentially good thing about the Borthwick saga is that it perhaps indicates that we are trying to appoint the best coach we can get, not just the one who's available right now.
