All the best to Shazzam down under. A good squad player - for me, time for Simmonds to step into the breach

Can't think of a player that will be more suited to the aussie lifestyle than Sam

As a traditionalist, grumpy old man, call me what you will I'm going to miss a local playing for my team. To much merry-go-round, too little loyalty.

Cockers said it on his video tribute. A man who put his body on the line. At scrum half, at fly half, at centre or on the wing. Whatever it took.

Farewell Sam. And God bless your venture.

Well, he came on for the last five, to much cheering, put in for a scrum (twice) & hoofed the ball out of play to end the game. And he left on the back of a bonus point win.

Sentimental at the end? Yes, and I'm glad we're a club, a family club, that can do that - there's still a place for it in what has become a hard commercial world of rugby. If I ever feel we've lost that (& I don't mean the mawkish guff dished up by the PR Dept) I'll be gone. I don't think that'll happen.

Oh, we got that bonus point win, too!

I heard the R Leic interview; he was modest, even self-deprecating. But most rugby players are...

I was half expecting Sam to make a farewell speech, but so glad he didn’t. I would have been floods. Somehow I managed to hold back my tears at the end of the game. :smt039

I so agree with PGD. I’m chuffed that we are a club that can accept a level of what some might call sentimentality and put Sam on for the last five minutes. I‘d call it acknowledgement of a good player, one who served the club well and an all round good bloke. Hope the new career goes well - good luck, Sam. And thanks.

I think he'll have a great time down under.

I wonder if any of the Aussie teams find themselves short at 9 start trying to get hold of him. They'd love him. Whether his business interests would allow that I don't know.

To Leicester’s loyal Scrum Half,
We loved to see you play,
For our much loved Tigers,
Both at Home and Away.

You were very underrated,
Your fans will always say,
So sad to see you leave us,
To live in Summer Bay.

We wish you all the best,
In everything you do,
Sam Harrison, you’re a legend,
We will NEVER forget you.

Best of luck to him - I didn't know that group was still touring down under.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Just in case anybody is missing him:

There was also a good piece on him in Rugby World recently.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game
