During the offseason Tigers must practise lineouts till the cows come home.

I don't believe we have had a real "lineout guru" since the departure of Geoff Parling and therein lies the problem.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Re: Tom Youngs - lineouts
Lot of truth in that - hopefully will be sorted after 6N? Until then, there's enough 'nous' in the current forwards coaching set-up plus some very smart players who can sort it out now things are not being "over complicated" (as one Antipodean put it to me the other day!)voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:16 amI don't believe we have had a real "lineout guru" since the departure of Geoff Parling and therein lies the problem.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

I understand your point, and Tigers can train with Nottingham every so often to make the competition at least half-reflective of a match scenario but continuity is something that is lack and repetition will go along way to prove that. I’m sure Borthwick will work on these areas.

But wasn’t that one of the reasons given for signing Greenvoice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:16 amI don't believe we have had a real "lineout guru" since the departure of Geoff Parling and therein lies the problem.

Re: Tom Youngs - lineouts
Adam Whitty clearly hit a nerve by highlighting the number of crooked throws.
T.Youngs didn't handle it well and sounded ultra-defensive over something that can't be disputed - the lineout has been a mess.
I hope they're more honest with themselves in the team meetings.

Re: Tom Youngs - lineouts
Last weekend, I counted 3 lineouts that went astray, and there seemed to be a lot of them. I don't call that too bad.CrumblingTerrace wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 12:46 pm Adam Whitty clearly hit a nerve by highlighting the number of crooked throws.

Of course, it could be that I can't count past 3.....
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: Tom Youngs - lineouts
Thanks CrumblingTerrace you seem to be the only one who got my point, maybe i did'nt make my point clear enough which was about Tom Youngs reaction to the question from Adam Whitty and not about the total mess our lineouts are, and wondering if he gives the same reaction at team meetings, and if he does then it's no suprise it has not been resolved.CrumblingTerrace wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 12:46 pm Adam Whitty clearly hit a nerve by highlighting the number of crooked throws.

A poor response from a team captain.
