That’s quite ironic coming from your French ref comment on the Calvisano v Tigers thread.
That comment was tongue in cheek, call me out for the irony if you want to, I don’t think it is.

Don't understand the point of listing Eastmond. If he plays he will be either yellow or red carded, pull up lame after 15 minutes (and be out for months) miss tackles, ship the ball/responsibility on, have a shocker, or be just plain ineffectual.

Given all the talk about salary caps, squad depth, I'd far sooner see a keen youngster given the opportunity to develop. He is the absolute definition of 'the journeyman' player, raised on this forum so often. No surprise given his non-performances at his last club.
Agree with the sentiments about KE.. I’d go for Taute personally and as he was preferred vs Saints I’d imagine he might get the nod.

Agree too that KE has done nothing for us but the management always seem to select him so that is the team I think we might see not my personal choice. Would prefer to see Taute or Reid every day of the week tbh
I'm sure Polota-Nau is still not fit. Taute to start!
Query. Has the hugely expensive Polota-Nau ever been 'fit' since he arrived at Tigers. I mean 'fit' in a - I am an international hooker with lots of caps for representing one of the most successful countries in world rugby - type fit.

Unlike Skelton at Saracens who has been transformed. Polota-Nau arrived unfit. Played - but needed time to get match fit. Was injured. Recovered. Played. Needed to get to to match fitness. Season ended. Went back to Australia. Sat on a bench. Returned. Played. Had to get up to match fitness. Got injured. Recovered. Played. Had to get up to match fitness. Got injured.

I was excited when he arrived. But he seems to use the Matt O'Connor as a Fitness Benchmark.

I stand by my comments, the Tomahawk war chant is a mockery of American indigenous culture and invention by the NFL and Hollywood.
Yes we do but my point is that anybody can take offence at anything, and the Kansas City chiefs and the Atlanta Braves don’t have any issues to the best of my knowledge.

From your posts JP I think you are towards the younger end of the spectrum.
Dinosaurs such as myself come from an age before the world was ruled by political correctness and Human Resources, where common sense and humour were used, and in my experience it’s the do Gooders that claim to be offended rather than the particular section of society, and it’s where all the issues come from

Spot on. People are offended on behalf of other people who they don’t even know if they’re offended anyway. I hate political correctness.

It is ironic. What you find inoffensive, others will find offensive. The same way that you find the name Exeter Chiefs racist but others, like myself plod along and just see it as a name.

Sorry to repeat myself but 'political correctness' is a Maoist term and was used by the Daily mail to be derogatory about people who wanted gender. ethnic equality and lack of discrimination. I find the 'Chiefs' bit offensive, they were Exeter RFC and still are as far as many of their older fans are concerned. BTW I am 68 and remember the days before "PC" only too well.

It seems to me that club songs/chants have 2 purposes, to gee up their side and to annoy the opposition. The tomahawk chop is clearly doing a good job of the latter. If I was a chiefs fan, I'd be feeling pretty chuffed with this thread!
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I don’t have a problem with the « Chop ». At least it is a proper tune. It is not so long ago that this forum was filled with suggestions for a Tigers song (OMG!). The « Chop » adds some colour to the proceedings, and seems to be particularly popular amongst the younger fans (the type of people we want to attract!).

I too consider myself a dinosaur. Though I would draw the attention of younger forum members to the fact that later dinosaurs like T-Rex are closer to us in time than they are to a Stegasaurus.

As a dinosaur, I think a more PC description would be that Exeter’s moniker is ‘culturally insensitive’ rather than ‘racist’ which I agree is bandied around too easily.

On the other hand, as a later dinosaur, I find that the notion that “Do Gooders” are responsible for all of society’s ills is at best deeply flawed, and reflects the Jurassic views which were more prevalent at the time the Daily Mail last updated its moral compass circa 160 million years ago.

I hope Harrison is included in the match day squad and gets some game time for a final Welford Road appearance.

Even if one thinks he's gone off the boil rather, he's been a massive contributor as a reliable Club player.

Call me harsh but I’d rather we picked the team and brought on replacements based on getting a win and not sentiment. I remember when we didn’t pick club captain Corry for the final when he had been out for weeks previously even though he was available for the final.

However, I’m confident Harrison will be on the bench and will come on but for the right reason.

We aren’t exactly spoiled for choice in this department at the moment but he’s certainly worthy of his place in the match day squad on merit imho.. slim pickings!

If we concede early points then our heads will drop and it will be very unsightly. We are up against it this weekend and I don’t really have a lot of hope we can snatch a win. But stranger things have happened and we could be 100% on the ball and put in a two season in the waiting performance.
Fingers crossed that we can do it. Just need everything and everyone to be spot on.
There is never any points for 2nd place...

I mostly still refer to us as Leicester.
Not Lesta, Leicester.
I'm not offended but don't dispute others right to be so and of course JP14 has quite rightly pointed out the commercial use of a much persecuted people.
No doubt those who call it overly sensitive wouldn't be happy if someone bought Leicester and built a supermarket on it, or if the Wasps owner bought Leicester and moved his team in and packed us off to play somewhere!
They'd be bleating if it affected them!
