It seems like we are back to the team announcement on Fri lunchtime which appears to have become the norm recently.. strange that it was announced a day early last week
Oakham lad born and bred, Tigers season ticket holder who is enjoying steady progression back towards the good old days!

Assume they’re flying out early tomorrow with a 1.30 kick off SaturdayOakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 8:27 pm It seems like we are back to the team announcement on Fri lunchtime which appears to have become the norm recently.. strange that it was announced a day early last week

Like the look of that squad, imagine there will be some wholesale pack changes at half time if all going well

I think I'd have liked to have seen Martin maybe on the bench with Spencer starting instead of Green, and Costelow starting with Hardwick pushed to centre or bench.
Still, not complaining. Just giving an opinion

Good mixture of youth and experience plus some returnees will get game time. I'll be interested to see how well Joe Thomas performs. Nice mobile back row that should win turnovers and a powerful pairing at lock. Decent bench as well. Also interested in how Johnny McPhillips performs.
I think this is a sensible selection by Geordan. It enables him to look at further permutations in midfield and at 9 and 10, continues the development of youngsters like Steward, Lewis and Hardwick and gives game time to returnees like Spencer, Taufua and Bateman ahead of the Chiefs game.
If we win this and Cardiff at home we will qualify as group winners with a game to spare which makes a potentially difficult away fixture in Pau less of a pressure game.
Come on you Tigers!

Martin unavailable I think - still serving his ban.

Nice to see Sam getting captain before he leaves.
Re: Calvisano v Tigers - return fixture next week
Also interesting to see how Lewis goes at 6.
Played well last week.

Hoping for a win and if possible the bonus point too, however tactics wise we should play this game with a bit more pragmatism, going for penalties at goal to build a lead then start kicking to the corner. Hoping it will be a good game.

Agreed, for me he is now back up flanker in the senior squad. First choice being Kalamafoni, Thompson and Taufua. Lewis, Reffell and Liebenberg as backup.
Interesting to see Forsyth still with the group, maybe retained as injury cover for Olowofela. Great to see McPhillips get some gametime too.
